Looking for FC and guidance

Hey guys,

Hope all's well! I recently just got to lvl 50 and finished the Realm Reborn story line (everything up to Praetorium?), and I would love some guidance on what to do next. I really want to experience the end game content but there's just so much and I feel like I'm running around like a chicken with its head cut off, not knowing what I should be prioritizing first, or what would be the best route to catch up.

I asked my previous FC multiple times if they could provide some direction and help with certain quests/dungeons, but they were pretty silent and didn't offer any help. That kind of rubbed me the wrong way, so I recently left and I'm hoping to find another FC that could help a newb player such as I.

Anyway, sorry for the long post! I play pretty frequently, and would love to be more involved in the community :)

Short version: Focus on the MSQ. There are a ton of level 50 story quests you need to do before you can enter Ishgard and start working on the Heavensward content. You will also get a whole bunch of decent gear as quest rewards that way. There are also lots of sidequests and optional dungeons you can do when/if you feel like it, but the first priority should be the MSQ.

Focusing on the main story quest line is a great way to start if you want to work towards endgame. I'm not sure if it will help, I actually thought of it when you mentioned how you felt like a chicken with its head cut off, but I had written a brief guide that covers quests/features of interest. The focus though is more on what not to miss on your journey rather than on how to prepare for endgame. If you want to unlock the venture system to make money from your retainers, unlock the Challenge log to make leveling an easier process, or if you just want the infamous Star Spangled Subligar, it should help. If anything, if you need a break from the MSQ you can look it over to see if there is anything that catches your eye. As a quick disclaimer, I have not updated it recently, so newer additions to the game is currently not listed.
