PS4 sqare menu from chat broken

Steps:
- tried to try on items from my chatlog
- noticed the usual square menu when I go with controller into my chat doesn't open, because i can't even "mouseover" it
- asking a friend got the issue confirmed

"Mouseover" means I usually can wth the touchpad click into chat and select items or scroll through my chat with the D-pad.

Also chat operations with party members or people overall in chat don't work either

yes cant hit square while curser is on a players name to open up the sub menu as well D: and se tool tips for items linked in chat box

Same issue here. Unable to select people in chat or items linked in chat.

Relogging solves it for a time but it stops working again.

Yes this error is showing up for me as well

You cannot use the directional pad and select items in the chat menu, it usually happens after you leave an instance.

You can only resolve the issue temporarily by logging out of the game and relogging in.

Steps:

1. Enter an instance usually premade/full party
2. Instance prevents directional pad functionality in Chat log.
3. Resolution is to log out and log back in.

Came here to see if other people were reporting this. Really annoying, ps4 controller here, playing on pc.
