Your take on Alts

So I've notice and I can say for a game that charges for extra character slots which is an extra 36 $ a year for paying for more is there any way that u feel that the game is alt friendly. You have to get a friend to even send your character , items and you cant send them any gil at all. Just wondering why do you think this is the case especially with you paying extra. With a new expansion coming out where you don't have to grind out cross classes you don't want your particular character to be ,it would be the perfect time for them to be more alt friendly. Why not obviously people like to do it why not make it easier for those to build up their other character and stay in the game more. I liked swtor system you could literally send anything you wanted why cant we have this here. I love the game its just really a question out of being curious, because its not like we aren't paying extra to make these characters.

And you're right. To an extent.

It's good for those who want to rp (like myself) and create chemistry for/between their characters. Or maybe those who just get bored of endgame and want to "restart".

It hit me last night when everyone couldnt sign in because of isp issues , people where saying that they log into their alt characters. I just wonder why the game will take that extra 36 a year but do nothing at all to help you build up your alts and I'm not even talking skipping the story I don't mind that. Just more stuff like sending gil, and items and stuff like that I don't get the restrictions

but maybe its not as much of an issue for most of the player base but I def know more people than I thought ran alts tho

My alts are in the same FC, so the company chest works for passing stuff between them. (I've only leveled crafting on one of my characters, so have a lot of materials to pass one direction and crafted items to pass the other.) But I agree, it should be easier and shouldn't require needing to be in the same FC (and all with access rights to withdraw items/gil from the chest).

The last couple MMOs I've played not only let people mail stuff between their alts but had a shared bank where we could store items and money that all alts on the account could access. I really don't see why we don't have that here. Alts may not be as necessary in a game with such flexible multi-classing rules as they are in some other games, but many people still like them. And as you said, we're already paying extra to have those alts. They shouldn't be as actively discouraged as SE is doing.

I'm fairly new to the game , so I'm just curious to if players have spoken out about this are if its just a thing people they don't concern themselves with. I mean if you give me 13 diff jobs and 5 different races , well really more like ten , plus different genders. Even with the all on one feature why wouldn't I want to different things. And they also count alts in the population data but they don't really give u away to maximize them.

One character is all you need to play this game. You want more - pay for it. It's optional. And it's very fair. They are not selling any exp or drop rates increasing runes or materia or any things like that in cash shop. It's only glamours, minions, retainers, extra character slots, etc... things that are not really essential for this game. As for those extra character slots, I don't even concern myself with it. Have one character and totally happy with it. And if i ever want to make alt - it's not forbidden to make characters on different servers.

what exactly is fair about it , and as I mentioned you have multiple races and jobs that are frankly unrelated to each other totally just because you can do them all on one doesn't mean you have to , in what other realm is a wizard of magic a rouge and a ninja , or a physical style monk that knows karate , like I know you can do everything on one Id just rather not I didn't say , give me a skip potion so i can skip msq I'm willing to do msq multiple times because I don't like the all on one concept but I like the feature because it makes people happy. I just stated that I'm paying more so why should i need a friend to send my alt my money thbat I made in game with my main. They make money from the extra slots but also ,who do you think they are talking to when they make mounts are bathing suits per character its the people they know make alts and I'm sure its brought in some decent money. So why shouldn't i be able to send my alt a million gil .

Sorry but the entire premise of FF14 is that you can do everything on every character unlike most other games. It's similar to the job system in FF11 and in earlier FF games like FF3 and FF5. Alts are considered unnecessary, and most of the populace thinks this same way. They're not going to change the entire structure because of a few that wish it was something else. I personally have 1 alt that I hardly play as it is as I have too much to do on my main character. And even then, I only have them to go through the story again.

I dont have an issue with that at all but how is it changing a system to just send mail to created I know this is good for the player base but I think some are missing the point that these alts arent free, so whats wrong with making it easier to get items to them.
