Are MCH'S meant to be weak?

Hi, First time posting here, I've played FF for two years but I'm still extremely noob at the game, not utilising alot of classes and damage.

So I recently unlocked HeavenSward today, super hyped to try out AST and MCH, but when I was doing the first trial I found them to be ungodly weak, like even a white mage at level 30 using Stone would do 2-3x more damamge, than what I was doing to the monsters.

Am I not using my skills properly? Am I meant to have better gear?

Mch are really strong in endgame raids actually, but when you first get them they are weak, due to missing their turret.

Ah I see, but even without turret's I still expect them to do decent damage with their normal skills, the damage I do might as well be non-existent.

Machinist is really strong in end game actually. Very desired in pretty much every raid because of their ability to increase melee DPS and overall better utility than BRD's. The MCH in my group definitely holds his ground in our group and does DPS pretty much equal to the other DPS.

Don't compare the damage at lower levels at all, it's a close to worthless way of understaning the class. If you wanna try it out do PotD. MCH is overall 4th when looking at dps in current content.

In the middle of leveling mch myself. Once you get the dance of ammo and ogcds down its quite fun. While soloing isn't really a thing in endgame it's still cool to kill normal hunt mobs without them touching me due to high burst plus blank, leg shot or w/e, and suppressive fire. Definitely one of my top 3 jobs now.

Depending on the layout of the fight in raids/trials, MCH can be very strong and near the top of the charts. On a stand-still striking dummy, they will probably be behind the melee DD and black mages. MCH is one of the most fun DPS job to play imho. The opener is really fun with all the buttons to press.

For PvE... I dont think thats a problem but for PvP, yes they need to be weaken lol

I know this MCH player on Lich who's insanely good with the job, always topping DPS, sometimes by a large margin, over the rest in end-game raids. They're a hard job to master, but can do insane dmg at lv 60. :)

MCH has the highest burst damage in the game bar none. Just level it and wait til 60 before you complain.
