Summoner Class please bring it back ;D

I don't know if anyone else would like to see this class return? But I loved playing it back in the day on FF online. Post you comments and feedback on this I'm sure this has been brought up before but I'm just voicing my opinion. :D

they already said its coming in 2.0.
they also gave more info than just that, they said the summons wont be ifrit or shiva or the like because they are gods so this time around summoner will have lesser summons such as carbuncle.

Like one idea could be for example maybe having a beast tamer class and that job would be like a summoner type of job.


I miss Beastmaster ^^ I'm also looking forward to having my chocobo level up and fight alongside me :)

Think of it like this. As it stands now whatever content they create now has to be remade for 2.0 so by creating a pet system to work with this game engine they'll have to rework everything for it to work in 2.0. When it comes to new classes that haven't even been developed yet it would much more logical to just have the code ready for 2.0 rather then waste resources making it work in an engine that will be eliminated in 10-12 months.

This isn't entirely true. Yoshi said that certain things like the umbral era storyline and the maps and other elements will be scrapped, but revisions they've done since taking over will be retained. Things like the new combat system and the recipe revamps, these are things that have been introduced now, but will be retained and need only be converted to the 2.0 servers.

So something like a pet class, for instance, won't have to be restarted from scratch when 2.0 hits, just adjusted to the new servers. Yoshi has even said that if the schedule goes well enough, the possibility for new classes, (including summoner or beastmaster) before 2.0 hasn't been ruled out.

No, for pet class cannot give promise before 2.0, yes to jobs but not to this pet class, which is entirely different and that is why it will focus on that later on, but it is confirm more Magic class will be introduce after 2.0 launch before Beastmaster come in or even summoner. so pet class or summoner may be after other DoM's class made available.

tough luck they need to keep on with the schedule, some minor change may be able to do, but for those that didnt make it, is consider either hard mechanic or current server engine unable to process it or it will slow down the 2.0 process. that is all.

Well, either way I wasn't expecting summoner before 2.0, heh. They have quite a bit on their plate besides that.
