FFXIV Stormblood & Steam (Questions)

If anyone from SE could confirm (if at this time the information is known), but will we be able to purchase the collector's edition of Stormblood if our account is Steam-based? Are there any plans for this?

As Heavensward showed us, Steam users weren't able to purchase the collector's edition with the neat statue because the version packaged within was for a 'PC' version, not a 'Steam' version. I saw a lot of people around that time pretty dismayed that we could not buy the collector's edition. That coupled with the fact that we weren't really told this would be the case when we bought the game on Steam just really...sucked.

I, and I assume many other Steam users, are willing and able to pay the price that the collector's edition would entail. We want those bonus goodies. If we're able and willing to give SE our money, I'm hoping SE is willing and able to provide us that avenue to purchase the collector's edition. Heck, I'm totally for a campaign like the PS3 > PS4 campaign which would allow us to migrate our account to a full PC version of FFXIV.

I'm sure many Steam users want to give SE their money, so please allow us the chance to get the statues, the artbooks, etc that may come with that edition, please. Include a Steam code, allow us a campaign to migrate accounts, just anything please :( I'm a huge FFXIV fan and there's not many games I would gladly just shell out as much money as a collector's edition costs.

You can purchase it if you want the new statue and what ever goodies there are. But if you want to play Stormblood, you will have to purchase it again via Steam.

Are Steam players able to get the digital collectors edition?

Yes. Steam players can get the digital CE. I have the digital CE for both ARR and HW on steam. The op wants the physical version though so he can get the goodies in the box as well as the digital goodies.

yea hope square enix doesnt just ignore steam users , heavensward preorder wasnt added to steam until very late , hope it will be different this time

As long as it is available for ordering before release, what does it matter when it's available? With Heavensward they said it would definitely be available to pre-order (and it was), but that didn't stop people panicking despite them saying it would be there...

If it's anything like HW then probably no, you won't be able to user any code (physical or digital) that you bought outside Steam. I remember some people bought both because of that limitation but still wanted the physical statue. They will probably confirm it once the official pre-orders are up.

That might've been trouble on Valves' end and communication.
