How do you keep all of your Jobs evenly geared?

I've been playing DoM for a well now, and been trying to figure out how to gear an addition job thats in DoW. Because Smn and Blm share gear, and all of the healers share gear it's extremely easy to gear them out with no problems(unless they do job specific gear, then it turns into a whole new hell ;_; ). I just recently played though PotD with Dragoon, and found that I enjoy the job, but once I get it to lvl 60 how am I supposed to keep it evenly gear with my DoM jobs? Weekly lockouts would go straight to DoM jobs to keep them geared for future patches, and I don't have the money to buy gear from the marketplace.

Short answer is, you can't. Unless you keep them all at a fairly low ilevel of course. You have crafted, lore, mhach (lol) and ex roulette dungeon gear at the moment which have no weekly cap to get you to an ilevel high enough to keep up with the current content.

Unfortunately it's all part of the mmo model. One of the long term goals in a game like this is to get the best gear available, so you could gear up all your jobs to the highest level straight away that's an incentive to play every week gone out the window.

Dungeons? 24 Mans? Previous Alex runs? Lore? Take your pick. It wont be as highly geared as your main until probably 3.55 since that's when scriptures will probably be uncapped, but it'll make it useful.

Its important to note that we don't know what will be the rewards for 101-200 in PotD as well. 51-100 will more than likely be those red weapons shown in pics, but 101-200 could be gear.

Depends on what type of content you want to run with DRG.

At the moment I'm working toward Scripture gear for BRD/MCH and Alexander normal gear for PLD/DRK/WAR.
I've got all the melee, casters and healers in a mix of Weeping City, Lore, and dungeon drops.

All my classes are high enough to get into any piece of content outside of Savage Alexander and Sophia Ex. A few meet the requirements for Sophia.

If you want to get DRG high enough for stuff like Savage you may have to invest in crafted or just wait a bit until you other classes have everything they need from the capped sets.
Uncapped stuff is good enough for the rest of the content in the game.

Weeping City/Void Ark for upgrade items for the Lore stuff and get the 230 WC gear as hold over.

Ex primal for weapons. (Sophia currently) If that is out of reach get the lore weapon (only 4 gears now and no lockout) and upgrade it with the gobdip you can buy with the same WC/VA items.

Hunts if your server does them (to get books for upgrade items) since spending an hr+ to upgrade an accessory doing VA/WC is kinda lame.

Once you finish with creator for your DoM, start getting stuff for DRG.

i use scripture on my main, alex gear on my secondary, wiping city and lore gear as I get the marks for everything else. my main has the 240 relic so when that continues in the next patch, I'll have my weapon for that. my other classes already have 240 lore weapons and the PoTD drop.

I've got a very simple system, I main one class only ;)

Honestly I get the appeal of multiple classes, but the whole gearing/levelling/completion grind for each one would drive me potty. Much respect for all those who do this successfully!

You really can't keep everything geared up...

That's why most people have a class they main, they choose one to keep geared up but you can however get every other class easily geared up with the previous content's gear...
Personally, I keep the other classes geared enough through older content to do the new stuff so I can take a break from playing just one or two classes.


Also, there is one way to have almost every class in the game fully geared up... Alts, you can have up to 8 characters on a server.
But that requires being willing to reach the Tomestone cap 8 times a week, and doing Raids (possibly multiple runs because of loot rolls) for weekly drops 8 times a week.

Your side jobs simply need to be kept one patch level lower than your main job for the most part. Well, until enough time passes that you fully gear your main and can spend weeklies gearing your side jobs.
