Ifirit, how it could have been done better.

Yoshi-P says he wants crafted items to be the best so crafters are needed.
Players want the drops they worked so hard for to actually be better than some cheaply made crafted item with 1 materia on it.
Ifirit drops simply piss players off to see items going to the ground.

Solution
Make the drop the HORN, and have crafters make the weapons!
So simple.

no thanks, buying from the MW is the closest to crafters as i want to get.

I would have the horn drop in addition to the gear, as an extra rare prize. That way, you satisfy both camps. The horn would be extra rare because you could theoretically craft an HQ version of the Ifrit weapons that could also have meteria stuck in it.

He has been over this. The current system is working as intended. The drop rate as well as the random nature of loot serves as a time sink to keep players occupied until 1.20. As soon as they can roll out enough content to keep people occupied, they will most likely implement a need/greed system.

Ya, sure that's what he always says, while others in my ls already have all 7 weapons, i've gotten 2 drops, and both were the bow, if it's working as intended, then i would say that the intent is to piss everyone off.

Well I for one support this and long have as it actually works.

Ignore the laughable "elitists", and WoW "Need for Greed will solve everything" detractors (more like Need for Greed solves absolutely nothing, and is a pointless system that would not fit this game's design one bit). This is a great idea and always has been. The loot system under the original NM's was the best loot system this game has ever had.

Incapacitions affecting drop rates, materials which could be crafted it was great. I wish some other people would quit the game so their terrible ideas on game design would no longer infect these forums.

btw with as many times as I have killed ifrit "doctor" mog (if you are a real doctor) I doubt it will be satisfaction I feel. This even coming from someone who camped kings for years in XI, it is not comparable it is a terrible loot system especially with such little endgame content for us to do (not excused by it as another suggested).
