So Housing Is Gated By The Most Hated 5-man In The Game :(

So I want an apartment, but to get it I need GC rank which is gated by Aurum Vale.

I've now had 5 parties via LFG fall apart because the tank, in each case, abandoned as soon as we entered. I asked one why and he said simply he hates it and will never run it again.

How are people supposed to clear content hated by all who've done it before in a game where there aren't many new players coming through?

Why is it in a game released in 2002 by SE housing is available to all at level 1 but when added to a game in 2016 it requires completion of large chunks of the game's forced-group content?

AV is stupid easy to faceroll unsynced. Make a PF asking a group to carry you through it, or if you're in an FC, see if they'll help.

I don't understand the hate towards Aurum Vale, easy dungeon to clear with lots of exp to offer. Think I've only seen one tank leaving, most simply skip as much trash as possible.

Because it really is difficult if done around level 47 which is the level cap for it (I remember I had nothing but problems when I did it long before undermanned parties were added). Now however, with the level cap raised to 60 and the undermanned function, it's easy to solo it. If you're not yet at level 60, ask a level 60 person to duo it with you and lay waste to the place undermanned.

As stated, it's not that difficult now to do it undermanned at level 60, or else ask a high level friend to take you through it (again undermanned).

I presume you're referring to FFXI, and there is a very good reason for that. The Moghouses in FFXI were actually there for a technical purpose which actually had little to nothing to do with giving players a nice house to live in. As Moghouses were instanced, they were designed to actually help stabilize the servers by reducing the amount of players actually in the game world at any one time - this is why certain gameplay functions in FFXI were originally locked behind the Moghouse and could only be accessed in there (such as changing Jobs, gardening, accessing the Mogsafe/storage etc). It was to encourage players to spend as much time in there as possible. It was also the reason why originally in FFXI you couldn't even invite another person to your Moghouse for many years (it was only after player numbers had declined enough that the FFXI development team decided that the Moghouse's server stabilization function was no longer necessary and allowed you to invite players in your party into your Moghouse).

Either way, the Moghouse's functions were more or less duplicated with Innrooms here in FFXIV anyway (albeit without being able to change furnishings), so players effectively already have access to pretty much the same thing as FFXI does.

......Out of all the complaints... you complain about something you can do maybe 2 mins tops unsynced?

Here's how to easily do AV really quickly:

1. Either get a friend who's 60 to help, or make a PF asking if someone will unsync run through AV for you.
2. That's it.

No offense, but if I was a tank I'd leave too if I queued into AV and my healer was a level 27 CNJ. (Yes, that was a joke. Yes, I'm aware the OP is probably posting on an alt. Still couldn't resist.)

I don't remember it ever being difficult, only problem with AV is people don't learn mechanics from FATE's etc.

It syncs to level 49. Which is just 1 level short of it being fun. Oh if level 50 abilities could be used in there on big mobs of trash... ^_^

Most of the quitting in AV is due to people mass pulling in that first room and wiping repeatedly. So many players lack any kind of spatial awareness and just run into extra packs of mobs whilst fighting something.

That said it's not an issue any more since you can just run it unsynced at level 60 and steamroll the whole place. My only guess is that the OP is unaware of the unsync option in the DF since it's hidden in a sub-menu.
