Alert function for gathering nodes

I know I can just download an app to do this, but I'd rather actually have it in game.

To put it simply, I'd like to have an alert function for rare gathering nodes (the ones that only pop at certain times) How I'd imagine it working is that, based on items I've already gathered (and have books for), I could go into my gathering log and selectively click the item and choose a checkbox, like "Notify me when this item becomes available".

Obviously if I were in a dungeon or trial or something, it wouldn't go off - similar to what happens when you sell something on the marketboard. But a message similar to that which simply reads something like (Item) is now available in (Coerthas western highlands) or whatever that I've chosen to be notified about. Or to make it more lore friendly, you could have "You sense (Whatever) is now available in (Location)."
