Wasn't that Thancred thing just the first time he fought and only because when that was implemented, Rogue didn't exist? I thought ever since, he was pictured with daggers.
Not to mention that his cyclops action would make more sense as a monk than anything >.>
And what would Raubahn count as? Flame magician with sword?
Raubahn is beserker
It's possible for NPCs to switch classes, maybe even jobs. It's also very likely that many NPCs developed their own unique skill sets that aren't used by anyone else.
We see Eynzahr switch from MRD (maybe even a WAR) into using a gun in Hullbreaker HM
During 1.0 and at the beginning of ARR Thancred's class was Gladiator who fought with daggers. As Rogue/Ninja came ingame, Gladiators lost their daggers as weapons and Thancred became a Rogue. So the similarity to Paladin combat came from the Gladiator combat style of Thancred.
She might if there will be a RDM.
They did the same thing to Yuigiri kinda.
They had her stand/run as a Miqote to somewhat hide the fact it was a new race coming.
Shame Beserker didn't come out this expansion, after the cutscene it would've been perfect to fit into his lore.
Ah, I guess they wanted to release three new jobs for the next expansion. Beast Master or Puppeteer could've worked with the Ala Mhigo setting as well though.
I sortof feel like its not so much them changing jobs/classes, but its just that their natural combat styles evolving.
Thancred is a good example. Starting out using a dagger like a sword. Gets the job done, but not nearly as efficient as using either two daggers, or one sword. Then later on he starts using two daggers and he starts fighting more like a rogue.. And eventually, after all the fighting he's done throughout the game, he's now this badass ninja assassin.
I mean it makes sense. The more you practice and the more you fight, the better your combat style will get. He's just coming into his own, as they all are :D

But Yugiri was never a Miqo'te.
