[Suggestion] Beastmen Recruits

Now that we get our own little squadron, how about some beastmen recruits?
For lore reasons, we can exclude the ones we are fighting with. (Ixali, Amalja, Kobold, Sahagin), or perhaps exclude by country though that will be lopsided.

Sylph, Mamool Ja, Gnath, Moogle and Vanu seems perfectly fine as recruits though.

Sylph seems fine because they went the "defensive" route and is not at open war with Gridania.

Gives some more reason to do the beastmen quests too.

I could be wrong, but didn't Ul'dah make it a law sometime in 1.0 to not deal with any beast tribes? I think it was an attempt to placate the Garleans that were moving steadily closer to their borders.

Yep. Beast tribe people are banned from entering Ul'dah's gates, meaning people of beast tribe heritage would be cut down long before they would get anywhere near the Hall of Flames. All of them.

Gridania is less cut and dry as they have a great relationship with moogles and Little Solace sylphs, but will murder an Ixal on sight.

Beast tribe members might fly in Limsa, as they have a system in place for beast people to stay in the city via a work-visa sort of system.



But, basically, the system would be lopsided depending on your chosen GC, and SE is pretty bent on keeping everything similar.

It would be amazing if we got Beast Tribe recruits from completing our Beast Tribe challenge logs. I would love to see some of my friends from the Brotherhood of Ash or Ehcatl Nine on my squad.

Unfortunately, I imagine it would be not worth the dev teams effort to program it so we only got Beast Tribe recruits from races your character is friendly with. Also, as already mentioned, it wouldn't make lore sense for certain cities to let beastmen through the gates, or for beastmen to actively fight for Ul'Dah, Limsa Lominsa or Gridania, even if they were best buds with the Warrior of Light.

Hopefully they'll give us some other content down the line where we can interact with our beastmen pals. One of my favorite quests in the game was teaming up with all the 2.X Beast Tribes, and I would love to see more of that.

Lore-wise, they can always write a new story to do it. After all, its all fiction.
Besides, peace and harmony won't come to Eorzea if no one makes an effort to bring the beastmen into the fold.

And how would they do it? You start changing parts of the story here and there and everything else linked to it has to change as well and it's a change that would take a lot of time to rewrite. And that's before you even consider how to rewrite scenes between players at point A and players at point W in the story. By and large, beastmen have been and will forever be hated by the spoken races.
