First, I know this doesn't belong here but it seems I cannot post at all on the FFXI forums. When I log onto the forums, a page appears and says quote :

Since the valid character data is not present on your PlayOnline ID that is linked to your Square Enix Account, you are not allowed to log in to the forums.
Even if the monthly fee is paid and a valid content ID is available, a valid character data needs to be present.
Once the character is created, you will be eligible to log in to the forums. However, it may take some time until the character data is reflected to the system."
I played FFXI for like 6yrs till i canceled my account finally last yr. But this message makes it sound like my characters got deleted. Is this the case?! I really hope not. Whenever I needed a break from this game, I always had my account active because I heard a rumor that if an account wasn't active for x amount of time, they would delete the characters. And I didn't want that to happen because of all the work I did to get to where I am in FFXI. Should I have kept my account active? :S I was thinking of going back but its questionable now if I will have to start fresh :(

did you cancel your account? if so then your char might be gone.
Did you just deactivate your content IDs? you may need to reactivate them and incur a fee -

11-13-2011, 02:05 AMCharismaticIf you haven't already linked it you'd need to log-in to your Square-Enix account, scroll down to "Services and Options" and click 'Select Service. From here you'll click on PlayOnline/FFXI. You should then see the option to 'add a new PlayOnline service account'. Just follow the steps from that point and you ought to be good to go.Quote:

You need an active subscription to FFXI, and possibly have logged in within 30 days to post on the FFXI forums, the latter could just be for the FFXIV ones because people we keeping thier accounts active to post.
Your character will not have been deleated but because you canceled your subscription you cant post, this is you avoid people that dont play trolling the forums. -

Same Rule for FFXI Forum. And since you said you canceld your account LAST year, you obviously dont fit those requirements.
