What do you want done with Guild Marks? Your feedback to developers!

I personally would like to see Guild Marks abolished and have us reimbursed, allowing us to trade for a one-time goodie shop.

This is another small suggestion, open a store for Guild Mark just like Grand Companies and their seals (I am not too fond of this idea).

I would much prefer they remain, at least for DoH, as a means to buy materials and/or shards/crystals.

For the other classes, I don't much care.

guild marks > company seals.

a straight 1 for 1 conversion.

got...

10,056 conjurer marks
3,586 lancer marks
5,697 alchemist marks
2.597 botany marks?

then give us 21936 company seals.

people may cry its too many but seriously, with gatherers and crafters manuals, it wont last long.

or give us 50/50 seals and gill. although TBH 1 guild mark should be worth like 100 gill for all the hastle of getting them. (and yes there IS hastle of getting them, go to av guild, chat to npc, navigate sluggish menu's, go to location, nagivate another sluggish menu, kill mobs, nagivate another sluggish menu)

@Answa Ah, that would be helpful, I was thinking from a War class point of view.

@Secret_Reeve I would love seals more than anything else, but keep in mind there is a cap to Company Seals.

thats true! perhaps SE can do a 1 > 1 conversion to seals until the cap is hit or a 70% to cap is hit then a 1 mark > 100 gill conversion for the remainder?

what about the skills and scrolls we already bought???

You'd have to be reimbursed for them.

If guildmarks -> Company seals people would need the cap raised about 20x what it is now...

I'd prefer to still see them as unique equipment or items in favor of them. I actually thought about all this and a few suggestions:

God's Fury - (Archer Marks) - Grants +10% damage increase to Ixal beastmen. Lasts 5 minutes. Stacks to 99.
Wood's Bane - (Lancer Marks) - Grants a defense boost against damage from Ixal Beastmen. Lasts 5 minutes. Stacks to 99.
Nophica's Embrace (Conjurer Marks) - Grants an increase to healing magic potency. Lasts 10 minutes. Stacks to 99.

These are just names I made up, but I think special medicines or concoctions in exchange for Guild Marks is an excellent exchange really. They say that the marks are meant to be used to buy special services exclusive to that Guild, so why not actually make them useful for equipment or items that said guild members may typically use? DoL classes may have temporary items that boost their gathering skills, or maybe causes a loud enough disturbance it causes attacking creatures to flee in terror for several seconds enabling them to get away safely. DoH classes could use it to get certain types of unique materials, crystals/shard exchange as they do now, and perhaps special items that can be added into a synthesis to add a custom signature to the item. Buying "abilities" never made sense to me in the first place...

EDIT: Another thing perhaps would be that marks are required to undetake specific Guild-related quests, kind of like Faction Leves in a way. They might net you rare pieces of equipment, achievements, or when the housing feature goes live, trophy items to display in your home. Who wouldn't want to decorate their home with like a giant warbow wrestled from the claws of a mighty Ixal? Or a wicked-looking curved blade from one of the most powerful Amal'jaa hanging on their wall? Only those who have proven their loyalty to their Guild can take on these quests by spending their marks.

i'll be perfectly honest,

i simply fail to understand why they're doing away with this, at least for traits.

i understand the new action/traits system they're bringing in ect but being able to gain abilities/traits via guildmarks meant that there was more diversity in how you obtained abilities instead of the typical "oh new level! oh new ability too" sort of thing.

RIP guild marks.

you wasnt buying the ability, you was buying a scroll that taught you the ability, like a spell scroll, you buy the scroll, read it, you learn how to use that spell, or in this case, ability.
