I play on PS4, with joystick and keyboard, and was Really hoping the W bar was something more that what it is.
We already had a feature like this, you just moved it somewhere else.
I have two macro bars I'm comfortable toggling through, but when you add a third, it's really too much. Particularly considering some abilities, like Stance, or situation ones, really take up real estate on your 32 button (2 bars worth) list.
I was hoping I could be about to put abilities in the W bar, access them, and not toggle to them... but short of redundancy, this doesn't solve my problem.
Can we atleast make it so you can lock out Bars so you can simply toggle between two bars but have the W bar access the third bar, without being the third toggle?
Hopefully i'm explaining myself right, and if there is a way around this (Aside from using Keyboard and Mouse, let me know.)

Um... Don't you have eight bars you can switchI between on PS4? I only have three combat dedicated bars, the other five are full of minions, emotes, job changes, and some menus like inventory.

Assign one to your expanded bar, another to your W bar, and another (or multiple others) as regular toggle-able bars. So now, instead of 32 buttons before needing to toggle, you can have 48 before needing to toggle. (Of course, if you're comfortable with switching bars, you can access all 128 as always.)Quote:

That part's always been available. You choose which of your bars to include in toggling. (Actually you can set both which to toggle between when your weapon is drawn and which to toggle between when it's sheathed.) If you add a bar as either your expanded crossbar or your W crossbar, you can remove them from that toggle list, since you have another simple way of accessing it.Quote:

I actually like this new W hotbar. It's exactly the thing I had hoped we'd get. It takes some time getting used to (and I probably wont be using it till 4.0) but great addition.

im more disappointed in the fact that it doesn't support "toggle". SE really needs to have a video explaining this in detail and in english. Personally I hate the "Hold" option as it restricts the movement of my thumbs when i have to keep one or two triggers held down. Why can't we double tap R1 or L1 instead of having to double tap R2 and L2 and then adjusting the timing for it? I use the directional and face button layout on each side for a total of 16 buttons (8 per side) and I toggle left and right by pressing L2 and R2 respectively while cycling through the 3 cross bars with R1.
What I would have done was remove cycling when under WXHMB and then set Cross Hotbar controls to "Toggle" and then have it mapped to R1 and L1 respectively. So double tapping R1 from your default cross bar will highlight the selected cross bar. Pressing R1 ONCE will return you to your default cross bar. However, if you double tap L1 then you would switch to the other W cross bar and likewise tapping L1 ONCE will return you to the default cross bar. No holding down triggers. simply tap and go. To highlight your default cross bar just tap R1 and L1 ONCE to switch between the left and right sides. The same can be done on the W cross bars.
I'm still playing around with this but a video of one of the Mods expalining this would go along way. I'm also aware L1 is mapped to camera zoom but I just feel there has to be a better way than what we have now.
Currently all it does is add 2 more cross bars on screen and atm I'm only using them for display since I can see all my cds. I can still cycle though the one cross bar as I always have since 2.0 but really not much use to me outside of that unfortunately. If anyone has any solutions that doesn't involve holding down the triggers I would appreciate that. -

On ps4 it's easier to switch between the bars. There really is no need for the feature for us. Due to how to reach those bars being so extra

It feels pretty natural to me on PS4, but maybe that's because I've always been using the Hold pattern anyway.
I don't really have a need for it yet, since the regular and expanded bars can hold all my combat actions (and I've already separated out in-combat bars from out-of-combat bars), but I tried it out by placing some menu commands on an extra bar. Easy and clear to get to any of the three without needing to swap between any. It'll be really nice to have once I level to 60 and get more skills to access.
(I hate having to swap between bars on PS4. It makes it impossible to learn where skills are by muscle memory, and requires actually checking the display every single time for each skill to use because they may or may not be where I expect them. Expanded bars and these new W bars give different button commands to each skill, so it becomes possible to learn where they are. That's a lot faster and easier than searching every time because I was swapping back and forth.) -

Really? I've muscle memory'd pretty much every skill for all my jobs even with condtant switching. ...Excluding Provoke and Mercy Strike on my tanks. I always forget where those are.

The only problem I ever had was when I started healing on AST and WHM, I had to redo my bars since my muscle memory for SCH was messing me up..Quote:
