Ideas for PUG 1.20!
Hey fellow Pugilists!
With class actions being tweaked upon the horizon, I thought I'd share some ideas that would make PUG feel more unique! One of my most desired abilities from PUG has been described on the final fantasy XIV bio on PUG, but I don't feel Light Strike constitutes as an "evasion stance" or what not.
Some ideas: (These are just my ideas, nothing I've found or heard!)
"Fighter Stance" - Recast: 2min. Fly into a fit of rage, and increase attack speed and power. Cancels out the effect of Evasion stance. Duration: 5min. (Effect weakens over time)
"Evasion Stance" - Recast: 2min. Ready a guarding stance, and reduce damage taken and increase evasion. Attack rate is also slowed. (Effect weakens over time and attack rate slows further)
"Featherfoot" - Change: While under the effect of Light Strike, gain 2 shadows.
"Focal Point (WS)" - Torment an enemy by striking at its very core, causing a slow effect on target. Recast: 60sec. (Not as good as victimize, but helpful!)
"Vicious Pummel (WS)" - Pummel a foe viciously by striking 5 times. (WS that's better than Victimize please and not dependant on evading! Nobody lets Pugtaru tank much ;;)
"Counter-Stance (Abil)" - Assume a stance where you have a chance to counter with kicks (<3). Recast: 3min. Duration: 25sec.

I'm probably just dreaming. But when I PUG, I don't expect to outdamage a LNC per say - but I take my job very seriously. I have two sets: A DD and tank set for PUG. And I think actions like these would help me further prove my point that PUG is amazing.
Anyway, hope actions like these will be considered! Thank you for your hard work and dedication, SE!

I'm loving this, sounds very much like how the Pugilist class is supposed to be! The stances are what intrigues me the most, as that is how Pugilist was supposed to be like after reading it on the official website. :)

I'd pretty much /sign everything which makes Pugilist just a little bit more useful/interesting..=,='
Also, about stances..I think there were some at launch and they were taken out of the game or something..?
Can't really remember..

Similar ideas have been expressed before. I think when people complained of lack of class uniqueness, they were referring to things like this, not necessarily who had what abilities (what I perceive to be SE's current interpretation; not bashing, think they needed a re-evaluation with upcoming job system). I want unique abilities, like stances for example, jump is another, that really give classes flavor. Although, now, with jobs, I think classes will remain how they are and jobs will get the cool abilities.

If monk is getting stances, I'm happy too.

Me rikey! I'd love to be an offensive tank giving it flexibility and a inherent duo styles of gameplay. Stances would very much do that.
-
Well we got our stances! ...kind of.
-
We did! I'm pretty excited about it <3

Yeah I like the idea about it :D it's kind of depressing that it changes the elemental affinities of our hits but I think that adds an interesting dynamic to our gameplay. Other PGLs don't seem so optimistic about the new stances though =/

I think the new additions will make PGL more interesting to play, but we'll see how it all pans out when we actually get to play it.
