The Lodestone Allows People To Stalk

For the past year I have been stalked, harassed, and belittled. Not only on Final Fantasy(Balmung) but on social media such as Tumblr. I've been told that they can look you up using an old user name and find you along with your current username. This is stalking. You change your name to avoid people like this but SE allows this despite how many reports I put in. SE, please make it so people can NOT look up old usernames to find what name you're currently using. I'm TIRED of being stalked, harassed, and making reports that probably won't help! I don't want to move servers and lose friends all because of these people. And before you all say "Why don't you blacklist them?" These people are CRAZY. They will post on social media, in /shout, in /tell, even in Party Finder they will harass, and slander me! Even if I have them Blacklisted they can find me using the Lodestone. They make alts and tell others to harass me. :mad:

Oh, forgot to mention that these same people who stalk me also spread so much rumors that I am NOT allowed to join any FCs, LSs, PFs, or even roleplay in public without them slandering me! Square Enix, please change the Lodestone search...

ok before you go asking for things to be changed it's not that they are using the old user name to look you up on the lodestone it's that they are using the old user name to look you up through google which has a cached version of the lodestone page, so not really anything se can do there. Secondly what the hell would possess someone to go to such lengths is beyond me but changing your name doesn't really do much as it still preserves things like friends lists linkshells and FC's which means anyone on any of those lists will know who you are. The game worlds are not that large your best bet is to report them as SE takes things like this very seriously and will perma ban accounts. I'm sorry to hear this is happening and I hope this information helps a little bit,

Without knowing who they are or the bias that may give, the kind of people who harass in any way, shape or form on a video game or in real life are (IMO) severely lacking in the maturity department.

People -- If you feel slighted by someone, then shrug it off like an adult rather than trying to exasperate the issue by naming and shaming others, perhaps thinking it is some kind of ultimate revenge. No. That just potentially makes you scum and a horrible person.

We all have different personalities and viewpoints; they have friends and feelings. If you disagree with them, disagree with them. But don't harass them beyond that or point others to. Many people are easily influenced, or haven't reached a state of maturity whereby they can deflect the mob mentality and just become a drone to make another person's life miserable. Don't be the enabler for such. Be the person you want others to be.

Also, using social media for this is ridiculous and indicative of being vindictive.

I mean, I can't even recruit people to my LS because the stalkers are trying to get in and turn people against me! I don't know what to do. My friends are scared to defend me in case these people come after them too. I'm on my last leg. I don't want to quit but these people just won't leave me be. I've sent countless reports yet it continues. Even had to call the cops because of the Tumblr thing! They're taking it too far. Though... It is Balmung. Can't expect anything better.

God if Balmung is that bad I'd suggest coming to Pheonix at least our crazies keep to themselves in RP sessions in Limsa.

Yeah, some people really are crazy.

Back in FFXI I had a similar issue, when I zoned out of the dunes to AFK a while (in a safe spot) I came back to the game, and started seeking a group.

After a long time goes by, I decide to go solo stuff as I wait.

I run into the HNM sheep who can kick the butt of most high level players at the time.
I avoid it, but as I'm going around it, I see a player run up to it, hit it with a ranged skill, and run back towards the dunes.

I assumed maybe its a new player who doesnt know what they are doing.

They bring it to the zone, and it begins its murderous rampage of all the new players at the zone, and this goes on a long while.

Eventually with enough warnings, ppl stop zoning, and it slowly works its way back, only for the same person to hit it, and bring it back.

This repeated more than this time as well.

I call them out on it, and from that day forward, they have spent almost every single day shouting random made up stories in jeuno, to try and get ppl to hate me. When ever I joined a LS, they eventually got ahold of the LS leader, to try and make up stories about me, in an attempt to get me kicked.
People ignored him luckily, but when I was in a Dynamis LS, this guy would constantly try to pin random mistakes as me doing it, even when I wasnt the job capable of doing what I was accused of. (I even warned the LS leader about him, at the start, and the leader agreed the guy is crazy)
Near the end of my time with my Dynamis LS, he started wiping our LS, and blaming it on me. For some reason the leader didnt kick him, despite knowing he is making stuff up.

This wasnt just a few months, this was 7+ years of him doing this stuff. The guy never relented.
Like I said, there are some crazy people out there.

Wow, just wow. They didn't get bored of it in all that time? Wow. I don't know what else to say about that story. That's insane.

Wow, that is just cruel. Wouldn't this be classified as cyber bullying?
