Healer issue pvp
It seems to me that if healer skill level diverges too much in any given feast/frontline match, the team with the better healer will win (only talking pvp; not shitter pve). At least in my case this has -kinda- always been true. I'd say, if skill level diverges at a certain degree (at what lvl SE has to decide), the losing team should not lose rank points in feast. Imagine: A gold-rank-dps, teamed with a noob-no-rank heal against a gold-rank-heal. Is that scenario fair for the gold-rank-dps for him/her to lose points, given how important healer is atm?
I'm saying this as I'm a no-rank myself, playing against no-rank heal with silver-rank-heal and easily winning.
One could probably argue against and forth for an eternity, but I'm kinda stedfast there is a healer issue in general. Concerning pvp that is. Or maybe the average skill level is just this low.
tl;dr: Don't make PvP outcome too much dependent on healer skill level.

See this post from a month ago: http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/t...303281-Healers
tl;dr bad dps make bad healers look like gods, great dps make great healers look like paper. The skew you see is a phycological issue and also a general matchmaking issue on healer or dps roles.

And here is a screen shot of a match I watched 5 minutes after posting this proving my point:
edit: top four winning team, bottom 4 losing team

The more 3rd wheels u have on your team, the more of a demands you have on your team as a whole. ? Weigh dps, heal and tank skill-level. Which one takes the biggest "demand" bite of the cake?? What job can you remove yet still win? Assuming we have top notch, equal skill lvl players, what would be removed 1st in order to win? At the highest skill levels, by termination, we would end up with healers vs healers.
"evidence"... ? I see the healer difference, but I don't see what team the players are on.
Maybe I'm off track here, no problem. The reason I started this thread is because I won an unfair match against noob heal. When I spot what I deem "equalishl" healers, I too, notice the outcome is deemed by dps.

Sorry, that was a quick post, Top 4 are on 1 team, bottom 4 the other.
The healer on the top team is a pretty new healer and right now is pretty paper (but they are improving a bit!)... The monk on the bottom team did half as much damage as the drg on the top, this made it so that people on the top team only died from the bottom teams mch burst the entire match.
You can't remove DPS or Healer role and win... I've been in a lot of matches as a top 20 ranked healer vs a top 20 ranked DPS and have lost a majority of matches, even against a paper healer whom I abuse with sleeps and fluid aura's. The only role that doesn't play a imbalanced part in the outcome is tank imo.

I guess that seems reasonable. What I'm getting at is making ffxiv pvp fair casually. So maybe my approach here isn't too good :P.
I know I have a point here somewhere...

Yes, I agree on that... There needs to be places for these people to practice. SE needs to fix the current matchmaking to make unranked/bronze not get matched with gold+ or they need to create a better/easier place to practice in.

I think everyone who has played feast agrees. There's no satisfaction in defeating a team if their healer is useless. Any integrity feast ever had is gone, now it's about who can face the inexperienced healer most often. Bonus points if you play healer or mch, war, or drg, because an inexperienced healer is a free win. And you see unranked healers in the majority of games (on primal).

Lets say you were match with unrank/bronze healer vs unrank/bronze healer, it doesn't mean the game will be even match. The game could be a landslide just base on the composition of the team or the strategy of each team or who ends up with the first kill or which team make the first mistake or the least mistake.
Regardless of which healer you get vs which healer the other team get you shouldn't take any players in that game lightly.
