Earliest I Should Enter Alexander

Hey everyone, looking for your opinion.

I recently returned to the game late August after a year hiatus and am still playing catch up. I'm putting off all of Alexander until I've completed everything else all the content patches have added since I've been away, much like I did with Binding Coil. I was wondering, in your opinion, should I put off Alexander and do gear grinding or start tackling it?
I'm a DRG with all my 210 dragonlancers gear, plus a 200 ardent ring. Should I start going for the 230 Slipstream or Yafaemi sets, go the whole hog and wait until Augmented Slipstream, or is the Dragonlancer set good enough for DPS checks, if present? I understand the weapons require drops from Alexander, but I'm just talking the armor sets.

So wait, you haven't done Gordias or Midas yet?

Well, Gordias Normal gives ilvl190, while Midas Normal gives 220, so gearing up with just partial Slipstream would see you through them both easily, and Augmenting them would probably be enough to get into Creator.

Get as many 230 and 240 gear pieces you can. Getting and upgrading the Lore items is super easy and will be even easier with the cap removed.

Correct. Just like Binding Coil, which I didn't even begin to attempt the first coil until I finished everything else there was to do and had augmented magitech gear.

It will be removed with this patch. Esoterics are being invalidated and a new Tomestone of Scripture is taking Lore's place.
