Suggestion for the "rest of the world" promotion

Many of the countries which you might know or not know on the this planet are bound to be excluded from the promotions. Based on the forums alone you can imagine how much is the player base happy about this inequality. As such it would make sense to make the last promotion unrestricted in terms of location and related to the digital goods.

I suggest to make a deal with Valve's Steam.

Steam is not just selling SE products, but even the FFXIV itself is available for the purchase there.

My suggestion is this:

For limit duration include the promotional codes for anyone who buys SE products or if you want to be more specific games related to the Final Fantasy franchise.

This would not just fix the problems that we have right now but also increase the sales of the other games. I think it's one of the best solutions.

I sincerely believe that the things will be set right... eventually.

And what about PS4/3 players?

The promotions are cool and all, but wouldn't it be so much simpler to just put everything on the mog station where anyone can buy it if they want it? I mean, most of these promotions has you spending money in some form to receive the items, so just give the money directly to SE.

It would be the best solution, yet I am afraid it's unlikely to get promotional items on the Mog Station for some weird reasons.

If you don't have PC yourself you could always gift the games to your friends or family members thanks to the Steam's gift feature.

Correct me if I am wrong, but Sony does not allow digital purchases of games outside of the Playstation Store, right? That's kinda a problem because I can't imagine any digital goods that would be running both on PS3/4 and PC.

So due to the limitations of your gaming system you might want to ask for an additional promotion with Sony through the Playstation Store.

Best solution is to put it in the mogstation station for the other regions

Sony actually does allow digital purchases outside of PSN, I believe you can buy (some) digital games from Gamestop, Amazon, and on occasion PSN games from Humblebundle/The Humble Store.

The difference between those three and Steam, however, is Steam is it's own platform and not just a store front like the above mentioned. While Square Enix potentially might be willing to make a deal with Valve, Sony would likely be unwilling to allow the sale/distribution of product by another platform without some form of compensation. likely a significant cut of any profits or an outright charge to the other involved parties. Each of the parties involved would want something out of the promotion, and if they don't get anything worthwhile they'd just decline.

That's the problem with a cross region + cross platform promotion involving multiple parties. Everyone needs to benefit. It's also one of the reasons why Japan got those items with the 7-11 promotion, and later the west got it via Amazon. To get the code from Amazon we had to spend at least $20 to qualify for the promotion. They could do something like that if partnering with Valve and Sony, but then again the two companies might want different types of promotions.

And then there are all the players who aren't using Steam for FFXIV. Many of us got the game outside of Steam. Valve might want their promotional codes to only apply to accounts that purchased from them, and Sony might want their codes to apply only to PSN tied accounts (which wouldn't be an issue for me, really. I can play ARR on PS3/4/PC lol). There's a lot of crap to consider.
