Materia for Offhand DoL Tools?

So all the DoL materia comes from Main and Off-hand DoL tools, but those materia can only be slotted to the main hand. The problem with this setup is that all of your main hand stats are disregarded when doing off-hand gathering. Because of this I think it's impossible to achieve 8 gathers on g5 off-hand (barring a few exceptions for those who preserved their dated high rank tools).

The most I can get is 112 Output for the offhand (114 is possible if you have access to LL GC items), and I think I need something like 116ish to get 8 (I know because I've tested with my main hand, and I've got 136 Output for that, though it seems that any output beyond the 8 gathers breakpoint is useless).

I really wish that I hadn't gotten rid of my dated r47 off hand tools >.<.

So, how about letting us slot the gathering materia into offhand tools?

This is 100% guess (not even rumors regarding it exist still) but seeing the way things are going i do think secondary tools might just be removed...because we already have a way too limited materia-wise and now that the new recipes are having changes regarding the HQ results, which were the main purpose of secondary tools, i do would say so.

But right now there is no real info regarding this...hopefully they will post soon, though, since 1.20 is meant to bring the changes regarding HQing.

Main Hand tool = +82 Output
Off Hand tool = +58 Output

Woolen Artisan Apron = +30 Output
Woolen Slops = +10 Output
Felt Work Gloves = +15 Output
Raptorskin Workboots= +13 Output
Linen Halfapron = + 7 Output

Total Output-main/off= 75 (+2 if you go with the Lominsan Slops)

75 + 58 (off hand tool) = 133 Output (+2 if you go with the Lominsan Slops)
75 + 82 (main hand) = 157 Output (+2 if you go with the Lominsan Slops)

Hey that does handily fix that problem. Thanks, I dunno why I overlooked the chest slot, I guess because I was also trying to keep perception high ^^;.

But it'd still be pretty nice if we could actually meld something to those offhand tools that say 'Meldable' none-the-less, right?

Could be a mistake. I don't see why they shouldn't be meldable after all... I think SE is still Ironing out the Creases in all of this melding gear.

Something else that doesn't seem right: Linen Artisans Apron and Woolen Artisans Apron. The Linen Artisans Apron Brown gives +6MND (mining) while the blue AND yellow both give +6PIE (fishing). Whereas the Woolen Artisans Apron grey gives +6MND (mining) while the black AND Red both give +6PIE (Fishing).

Looks to me like two of the four +PIE dyes need to be changed so give +INT (logging) seeing as most other gathering gear has three diff colorsthat give either +mining, logging, or fishing stats respectively... for Example Linen Doublet Brown = +5STR (logging) Blue = +5VIT (Mining) and Yellow = +5DEX (fishing). Samewith the Woolen Doublet Purple = +6 STR (logging) Black = +6VIT (mining) Red = +6DEX (fishing).

Its the same formula for the Boarskin and Raptorskin Jerkin, Culottes, Gloves, and Workboots. Three diff colors = one +stat of each of the three gathering classes. The only mistake seems to be the above mentioned Linen and Woolen Apron that have +PIE for 4/6 colors.

I dont know if SE accidentally copy/pasted the code in the wrong place but it would be nice if this got fixed...
