Chocobo companion timer. Is it really needed?

Hi,

Tried to do a search, but could not find if this was posted before. The Chocobo timer is quite bothersome... You can be in the middle of a fight, and the Chocobo will just disappear. Could the timer not simply be removed?

I understand the need for a gold sink (even if the greens are so cheap), but the current mechanic just seems to get in the way... And we already have to unsummon the chocobo for duties, dungeons, traveling on choco-charter... So is there a real need to even have that timer?

I would suggest to simply remove the timer. Keep the greens to summon him, but once summoned, he just stays until we tell it to go. It can even be unsummoned when we log out so we have to pay the fee again when we log back in, that's fine. Again, the fee itself is negligible. It's just to remove that bother when the choco dis-appears mid battle... Heck, even just changing it so he will disappear when combat finishes and not in the middle of combat would help.

Really? So at rank 10 it only lasted 10 mins??? That makes no sense... I'm glad it's much better, for sure, but I still do not see the sense in that mechanic. Usually mechanics have a reason behind them, but that one feels out of place. It's just weird. As a gold sink with greens being so cheap it makes no sense. So it's just a mechanic that to me does not fit at all with the game...
