Custom Avatar?

I'm unsure where to post this question, since it's not a bug (at least I don't think so) but I can't find the appropriate place to post it.

I know you can change your avatar, but it seems like you should be able to have a custom one? (Like one uploaded from your PC). Because if you go to
settings --> edit avatar

underneath "your current avatar" there's a note that says: if you have a custom avatar selecting this option will delete it.

I'm just wondering, can I have a custom avatar or have I misunderstood this note?

I also came by to report this.
I guess there's no way to do it atm, since no one has a custom one.
IMHO, they just forgot to add it >.<

Maybe once the forums are out of beta, they will add it.
