Weeping city, why is it in mentor roullete?

I am a mentor. I queue up to help players as well as earn progress toward the 2 seat mount. I play often and queue up frequently. Some runs are difficult, some end in failure, some are smooth.

Lately tho I have been having major issues with weeping city and why it is even in mentor roulette as an option to get. I find that my time as a mentor to help fill spots in older content and help newer players is being squashed by this 24 man raid. I can no longer queue up for in progress (i play dps), something that players might desperately need to fill ranks, due to how often (at least 95%) it is for WC.

I can understand having LotA, ST, WoD, and even Void ark to some extent at this point due to their lack of bodies to fill them up but why WC? It is the latest end game 24 man raid that is one of the most active and run dungeons in this game due to its gear drops and its gear upgrade coins so I fail to see reason why mentors are required to fill spots in it when someone queueing for it normally will do just fine.

It baffles me cause no HW EX primals are in mentor roulette yet the latest end game 24 raid deserves to be showcased there? Mentors are not required to be there as being the latest content there are plenty of non mentors to teach and guide players through it. It is to big to fail (usually) and mentors could, as I said, be spending all their time helping players in much older content.

SE. Moving forward I would implore you to please never include the latest 24 man raids in the mentor roulette system as it just takes players that are not needed and hurts players that really need mentors for older content.

So you help fill spots. The age of content doesn't really matter when there's people that need your class in something newer.

But where im getting at in this is no, they dont need mentors to fill the gaps. The content itself is so active that if the queue waited 10 more secs it could have gotten another dps to fill the spot while I could remained queued up for older content to help newer players. Instead newer players are made to suffer longer waits due to the system prioritizing content that we are not needed for. Now while i do say that this problem is for dps and not a tank or healer(maybe) issue a body is a body in any piece of content and the older the content the more it is pry needed.

Perhaps the raid is struggling with some mechanics. As a mentor, you can be the guiding light and guide this raid to victory!

Perhaps you're overthinking what the mentor roulette is really used for, since the description from the 3.2 patch notes states: "Mentors will also gain access to Duty Roulette: Mentor, which assigns players to duties that are struggling to fill party member slots."

While I can see what you mean with the possibility of a non-mentor dps being easily pulled into a duty like Weeping City, the system probably isn't designed to differentiate between the three roles, it's simply designed to search for parties that haven't been filled yet.

Most current content is included in the Mentor Roulette.
Heavensward Ex primals seem like an odd exception since ARR ones are included. I would guess it's because SE considers them more demanding to clear and will likely add them during 4.0 when they can be pushed through more easily with greater overgearing and some experience from unsync runs.

As has been said the main purpose for the roulette is to fill parties not help with old content specifically.

What you are really saying is you expect your rewards to be easy where you can just carry new players through content. They never said being a mentor is just carrying people in super old content you out gear. Of course if you can't handle being a mentor and teaching players to be better at the game you could always ask for your mentor status to be revoked...

Where did I say I wanted easy content? I try to help players all the time if I get ex primals in the roulette or dungeons, I dont just abandon. Also as a mainly dps I cant just carry people through super old content unless its unsyced, I still require tanks and healers to perform and I help them with rotations and tips if I see things arent flowing smoothly.

Just because I think mentors could be placed in content that they would be more beneficial towards, and not the most active 24 raid in the game, doesnt mean I dont want to be a mentor so not sure where you got the idea that I dont want to teach others and would rather give up my mentor status.

Mentor roulette is everything you can queue for in the game, except Coil and current primal extremes and Alex savage raids. I kind of wish they'd include those too, tbh.
