Console Issues

Before i submit ticket, anyone else on PS4 having issues?
It has been working fine until yesterday and today.
Basically after launch i get a blank white screen with the bg music, several attempts i sometimes get black screen with info and all that except that is all there is, no adds, no login box, nothing. I have tried re-setting licences and have just re-installed everything from scratch. ... My connection is good i have been playing other online games.
Oh and also find it odd that after launching the game it says "Connecting To Playstation Network". Never ever have i had such a message. Very annoying to say the least.

This happened to me earlier today but after it reconnected I was fine

yeah, that happens when the launcher can't connect to the playstation network.

i have no issues at the moment, probably something local at your place? i remember seeing these issues when the psn was under a dos attack.

Guess i can go back to finishing games i have not completed yet, lol

once you are online you can instead of shutting the game off just logging off and going back to the main menu (the menu before you choose your character, where the opening cutscene start after a while) and without closing the game turning the PS4 into standby-mode (not shutting the PS4 completely off).

when you then start the console again you are still in the main-menu of FF14 and you avoid the psn-check at the start of the launcher.

but warning: you are also avoiding the whole logging-in process wich includes your password.

As another warning, if you put your PS4 to sleep without logging, it does force you out after a few days time even if you aren't zoned in as a character.

I've had that issue once, and it led to horrendous lag when I finally managed to log in. Nothing seemed to fix it, it kept telling me the connection was fine, but barely anything worked. It was frustrating to say the least.

It somehow fixed itself after PSN went on maintenance, so I think in my case it was a screw-up on Sony's part rather than one on SE's or mine? I dunno, I really hope your case isn't the same as mine because I was literally about to gnaw through my arm in frustration after seeing the game just going like a stop-and-go animation (which had never happened before on my PS4, and never again since).

Unless you wanna play another game, why log out at all?
