[dev1032] Earthquake Revenge

The earthquake has me feeling grief, anger and a sense of helplessness. I wish they could give the earthquake a name then turn it into a Boss or NM and then let us kill it. You can't fight mother nature but I would love to see a fantasy version to take out revenge on.

I would imagine that we're going to see a lot more hate towards Titan and Leviathan in the game in the coming weeks...

Add in Ifrit for the Fires and Alexander for the Nuclear plants with special moves of course.

The guy is trying to lighten the mood, there is nothing wrong with that. BTW if you think this is the stupidest thing on the forum, search around a bit, you ain't seen nothing yet.

time and place guys. But ya all of the ffxi avatar fight gonna be busy.
But ya too soon to try and lighten the mood.... We kinda finding out players whom died that played ffxi ffxiv. I lost a few of my mates. ; ;

I don't think it's a stupid idea. Gaming is a good way to relieve stress and let out grief.

It is, by the way, something that has been done multiple times in the past, by multiple areas of the entertainment industry. Japan has, obviously, a great fear of weapons of mass destruction, and that's one reason why, much more than westerner media, Japanese games/anime and other media production often revolves around the fight against such weapons (just think about the whole Ace Combat series or the Final Fantasy series itself).

It creates an emotional link between the player that has such a tragedy embedded in his culture and the story of the game, and makes him feel, for once, not completely powerless.
many people complained about the fact that FFXIV doesn't make them feel like "heroes", and a storyline very loosely based on this kind of tragic events (there's no need to make actual mentions of quakes and tsunamis, by the way), would fix that as well.

One of the worst emotional problems of natural disasters adn similar large scale events is the feeling of powerlessness. The feeling that there's nothing that you can do about it if it happens again. It can bring forth serious and severe cases of depression. I wouldn't say using a game to, at least in a small part, combat that feeling of powerlessness would be a bad thing.

Instead of waiting for the dev team onn this one, why don't you go get a copy of samurai shodown 6, there's a fat Texan ninja that needs slicin'.
