I've recently come across a couple ppl on my server who, despite the brd buff of 3.3 iirc the patch number, they would still pick a mch over brd because of the few hundred dps more a mch can bring to the table.
I am asking you all out there, is brd still getting the shaft on your servers despite SE recently buffing them? If that is the case, then perhaps SE buff them even further to be on par? I don't know how things are going on other servers so I'm just curious.
If the group's overall dps is there, then it shouldn't matter if the ranged is brd or mch. I'm curious what you all have to say on my question on this post header and what not.

Well, if you are looking for a static filled with people who have brain and aren't afraid of using it, you will have no problem finding it.
At this moment bard is doing extremely fine and I haven't encountered or heard of any bard being turned down because of his job.
Of course we are talking about bards who can pull their weight. :)
What I have to say? Current tier is designed in such way that good BRD will put out more damage than good melees (talking about DRG and NIN) in most of the floors. -

People that are good at MCH aren't too hard to find. People who are good at BRD or even decent at it, are very rare. At least that's my opinion on it.

Bards do have some advantages though; Foe requiem can do a lot of work when a group has a caster and a dpsing healer and warden's paeon is like a warrior's best friend if used well -
