PS4/PSN Lagging Issues?

Hey guys~. I have a question to ask those of you who play on PS4/PS3.

I know that PSN was having issues a few days ago, what with hackers and stuff, but is that still going on? I wasn't having troubles a couple days ago, but last night when I logged on, I started lagging and DC-ing A LOT. And I've rarely ever had lag/DC issues unless there's a bad storm or ISP outage in my area.

Around 8pm CST last night I started lagging super bad during a run of Deep Dungeon. Restarted PS4 twice, and router once, and it eventually calmed down. Now, this morning I queue in to Weeping City with an FC friend to get his drop, and it's Lag City again. Tried turning off attack animations to try and ease the problem, but it didn't help. Funny thing was everything was fine until then. Even did a run of Deep Dungeon with no problems.

So is anyone else having this issue? Or know of any fixes?

I don't think it's my Internet, because I'm on Discord with my FC and everything is fine there--no disconnecting, no robot voice. It just seems to be the game itself.

PS - I AM SO SORRY to those of you in that Weeping City run. I have never had these sort of problems before. I would have left but my game wouldn't react when I would try to leave the instance. T^T

I've been ig every night since Friday for at least 5 hours at a time and while I may experience a bit of lag here and there, in general no problems connection wise.

the PSN has nothing to do with lagging ingame. you only need the PSN for logging in. once you are online in FF14 you can disconnect from the PSN and you are still online in FF14.

Psn has nothing to do with lag. I haven't seen lag these past 5 days

I know that if PSN undergoes maintenance, you can still play the game so long as you were logged in prior, but I also know PSN can affect other games, so I was just curious if it would affect FFXIV.

I'm not sure where this lag is coming from then, because it's not my internet connection. I am able to chat on discord just fine with no interruptions or frequent disconnects. But the lag was so bad in Weeping City that the boss died, yet I was still stuck in the upper webs that spawn with the orbs. And the instance would not let me progress past the river, or up the stairs towards Forgall. So I'm just curious where it could be coming from.
