Hello all you wonderful people, I've decided to go ahead and start leveling up my other 2 tanks now that I've got a good grasp on tanking in general via my Drk and have gotten all I can for it that isn't Void Ark or Alexander gear and I was wondering if there was any Warrior guides. Wanting to be able to get a better understanding of Warrior and how to best use it's skills and dual stances to be an effective warrior tank.
Any up to date warrior guides?

Xeno's youtube guide is probably a good starting point. There's a 3.X series guide that I think still gets periodic updates. Layla Bell's twitch stream has a set of WAR openers at the bottom as well that might be useful, as is watching his stuff in general. I haven't seen anyone focus on teaching fight-specific WAR tips since Final Coil, but a lot of those same principles and tricks could be applied to later raids to maximise uptime.
There was also a Mogtalk tank video out there that I think ended up focusing a lot more on WAR than the other two tanks. I can't remember off-hand if they went into openers or rotations though.
On the whole, you'll have a significantly easier time finding good WAR resources than you will for the other two tanks, unfortunately. -

Ah I see. I'll check out your recommendations. Mostly I was just wanting to find info on the whole stance dancing and when to Fell Cleave or when to use TP regen while tanking so that I don't end up messing things up.

When in doubt, overpower TP out. When in deeps, Fell Cleave peeps. WAR in a nutshell right there... But in all seriousness, what they said pretty much covers the broad brushstroke of it, most of it comes down to SS management, it seems pretty common now that GCD of 2.40-2.42 is pretty much ideal for keeping all actions in line per TP expense.

08-08-2016, 06:16 PMHierrostance dancing is something you learn more through trial and error. but as for when to fell cleave, the question is rather when do you NOT fell cleave? Two or more enemies? decimate instead cause it's more DPS. serious tank buster coming and you're MT? switch to defiance and use inner beast for the mitigation. use TP regen if you find yourself spamming overpower with berserk and internal release for MORE overpowers.Quote:
