i like suggest a duel scimatars blue mage tank job

for example blue mage mana bar would star at empty and you build you mana up with your melee attacks
then you have access to blue magic for building up of your mana pool
debuff for your enemys buff for healing

I won't get into speculative specifics, but at the end of the day, classically blue mage is a job that:
-can wear moderate armor and use shields
-has a wide variety of skills that cover not only magical dps but protection and healing and physical attacks as well. somewhat reminiscent of the popular half-joke that playing war is like playing a tank, dps and healer all wrapped into one.
-has a distinct mechanic that is all about the job getting hit. traditionally it has been to learn their abilities, but with a bit of creativity it could be worked into battle mechanics to give the job a distinct feel.
tl,dr: iunno about dual scimitar 0 mp attacks, but I generally agree that blue or red mage *could* work as a tank. I'd still rather see samurai though.

I mean sure, your avoidance tank might be able to tank dungeons just fine, but that's because those mobs don't hit very hard. You stand infront of a raid boss and you might survive the first hit, but if you get some bad RNG you're gonna be a red smear on the ground because the healers just wont be able to keep you up. Conversely, take the EQ2 Monk/Bruiser tanks where they were heavy avoidance tanks and would stoneskin (absorbs next hit) every time they got hit. Suddenly there is absolutely no reason to take the plate tanks because the avoidance ones are just as tanky, but have the added bonus of just avoiding 3 out of every 4 attacks anyway.
Maybe there is a way of balancing it, but I can't think of it.

Blue Mage:
I'd like blue mage but not as a tank, I'm not a tank, but I played it in ffxi so I'd be ok with the job again as a dps, not a tank. I want something other than brd/mch that I could possibly enjoy and if you got blue mage why a tank? There is already speculation that samurai will be another tank. There you go?

I like see if mage job could do it and it would a challange for develope team too. plus alot folks don't want samuri as tank
if i not mistake Yoshi P has hint samuria won't be tank job

BLU as Ranged DPS-Support (Healing/Defense)
I really like BLU, but I'd rather it be a healing support DPS.

I think tank makes a lot of sense for BLU, it could tank in final fantasy 11 and final fantasy explorers with the right setup. And as a job based on learning spells by getting hit by monsters, being a tank seems like a logical choice.
Tanks are the most diverse role right now which fits best with BLUs style. Offensive spells to hold hate. Defensive spells like mighty guard, healing spells like white wind. As a DPS it would have to be stunted in other areas to prevent balance issues and I just don't see it as a healer since enemy healing moves are so few and far between.

I think have tank different type would awesome like mage like tank such as BLU
