Can Something Be Done About Disconnects/Drops?

Waited all day for a Feast match, then our healer disconnects the moment the gate goes down. Clearly, we never stood a chance.

Devs, community reps, this is not something to ignore. I can take a loss due to tangible factors, but I doubt anyone will accept a loss by default for something out of our control. Sure, it's not as if the player who disconnects can do much about it either, but a complete loss of a party member is effectively a kiss of death.

So I'm asking you with all seriousness, and with expectation of some kind of acknowledgement: What can be done to solve this small problem?

Nothing. Take your loss and move on.

I wasn't asking you. I'm asking the people who actually can do something about it.

If you're fine with losing by default, be my guest. I see a problem, so I've spoken up about it.

I wouldn't get my hopes up for a response. SE addressed something similar in one of their patch notes last season. They didn't do anything because, quite frankly, there's not much they can do without causing bigger problems elsewhere or opening up the system to exploitation by cheaters or boosters. Unfortunately, the problem itself might be small, but the possible solutions could make things worse than they are now.

After thinking about it (Side note: I came off pretty mean earlier. Was quite frustrated, not just at the loss but other RL stuff. I apologize), it unfortunately would be exploitable. Well, anything's exploitable, sadly. But it's a shame that that's why we couldn't possibly come up with a solution.

And please fix the bug that disconnecting me for using Overwhelm. I can teleport because it's an in-game ability that let me teleport, not because I'm cheating. It's an in-game ability. How can't you make your own game work properly?
