Remote control gathering

So I've got a ton of free time at work and would like to do some gathering using my phone to control my computer. I've tried the program splashtop but they pretend it's free until you actually try to use it then try to charge you. Anyone know of a free program that does this?

If you don't want to use a payed product, and are using a PC with recent Windows OS. You could just configure remote desktop. Though you'd need to secure it yourself. Once you have remote desktop set up, there are a bunch of free iOS/Android Remote Desktop Clients you could download. The added benefits of a payed product are security and ease of configuration/use.
