I just read that in the live letter there was a video of jumping being introduced?
Is there any where that is hosting that section of video?

It's in one of these threads, I'll see if I can't find you the link, one sec.
Around the 36 sec mark.
Wow that's awful!
I hope they work on the jump animations.
Those mob mounts are pretty stupid too if they are a replacement to chocobos. It would be interesting as a quest objective (ride a Gobbue quest) but seems stupid to replace chocobos. The magitek looked okay.
edit: Wow, just watched it again. It's even worse the second time.
Personally I think the jumping animations look pretty smooth, at the very least up to snuff with how other mmo's look, my only problem with it is how high you jump, but its all work in progress so i'm sure things will get ironed out.
Goddamn, I was expecting the number of trolls to rise as we moved towards december but we are reaching critical mass soon. I've counted 5 just today.
I'll bet 10 bucks half of them will still be around after subs start.
Well.. considering that all character races have to jump the same height, I think the Lalafell just -looks- like its jumping real high. But if a Roegadyn were to jump that same height, it wouldn't look like a big jump at all. Besides, have you seen that thickness of our legs? We're beastly jumpers :P
The animation is fine though, no different than any other game.
I happen to think that the mounts look cool, far be it from finished, but it adds variety and that's a good thing. I hope that other mounts are hard to come by, but there isn't anything wrong about doing something along those lines... Any argument that having other mounts isn't Final Fantasy doesn't tie into the core of what Final Fantasy really is... And that's an every evolving game. Sure we all have our favs, (FFVI for me personally, so I'm super excited about the magitek armor) but that's what's the games about.
Everyone's entitled to their own opinion, and I'm very happy that the dev teams shows us as much as they do, that is one of the biggest changes to SE in years. Anyway, to keep this short. The saying, "don't knock it until you try it" holds true for any and all updates. And if you have feedback, be constructive... ;)
