Undersize Duty Finder?

Let us Imagine a world where you can go into the DF, queue into the 2.X content and DOMINATE as your level 60 in a Light and (or) Full party... Can we have this feature S.E.?

Would also benefit those first timers 50+ that need the clear... Just saying! :cool:

I'm referring to being able to DF 2.x content with cross server players without being subject to lvl 50 sync

I think we can already go in as an undersized party. Maybe I'm not understanding you though?

Only in pre-formed or Party Finder. I mean actually being able to queue in as a lvl 60 and play with ppl on other servers.

You don't learn a whole lot by letting max level people carry you through everything, except maybe how to get max level people to carry you.

Too many ppl are getting carried without learning even without this feature. Just did 2.x extremes for fun and new plays still make the same mistakes and die while those who do know end up doing all the work regardless.

What is the point of this feature. Additionally, by saying "there's all ready a problem so what does it matter if we add to the problem" is sort of counterproductive. Gasoline on a fire, etc. So, I would just like to politely point out that this idea is stupid. No "Carry" roulette. Bad.

It's just an option. Besides 2.X content is something the player base rarely does now a days anyway, so what does it really matter if the DF had an Undersize feature for cross server play for just the 2.x series? If the content had greater longevity outside of glam farming, this wouldn't even be a post. And the only REAL barriers related to progression are in Raid and Story content; raiding being optional. And come 4.0, according to SE, you wont even have to complete Heavensward to participate in the next expansion content.

I've come to accept the fact that, with the exception of Savage raiding, SE has designed this game to be inclusive of all players and their skill level. Almost everything revolves around carrying newbe players with very little resistance. My idea, which I suggest all in good fun, wouldn't change a thing with regards to underskilled players clearing content like they've been doing.

Yes, yes it would change things, a great many "newbie players" who are anything resembling good additions to the world don't actually want or need to be carried through content, they want to experience the game the way everyone else does.

Your desired addition does nothing beyond encourage the fraction of duty finder players that sit back and let everyone else do the work to continue on doing so by flat out telling everyone below 60 that it's ok to not know anything about what you are doing.

You also have the rage filled "get it right the first time and no cutscenes!!! F@!$ #^&&_% you all noobs" crowd who would ruin the game for anyone who made the smallest mistake on anything taking full advantage of it to go glam farming before dropping the party half way through consequence free like a number of bad dutyfinder players do already.

New players still play 2.0 storylines, and there are still /alot/ of new players, why drive people off by exposing them to more toxic jerks than regular dutyfinder has to offer?

If you want an undersized party grab members of your FC and have at it, don't encourage people to not bother with mechanics by making it the typical solution to not wanting to learn from your mistakes.

It's why we don't get fights with mechanics beyond "go in, tank and spank, kill the adds, repeat" except for really late in the story. Like with steps of faith which was fine the way it was but nobody wanted to work together so lets nerf it to death so people can move on, who needs the dragon killers anyway?

Really depends on the implementation.

If it allows people to tick the undersized box and then normally use the duty finder while only being matched with other people going undersized...there's not much harm done. Unsynced coil comes to mind here - those fights are typically either done unsync or not at all. And simply allowing duty finder matching for those unsync runs merely reduces wait time you'd spend in PF, particularly on smaller servers.

If it's supposed to match people who tick undersized with people who go in regularly...yeah no.

This would be a pretty nifty additional feature. I'd love to be able to run the older dungeons with other servers like in traditional DF. But in the case of newer players, there should be an entry restriction in place, such as 'you must have reached this point in the storyline to run the following duties unsynced' or something. It's fine if you want to unsync the level 50 content, but the lower level stuff would really hurt your exp gain if you unsync them.
