rare 8-man quest
Just wanted some opinions on an idea.
how would people feel about an npc in every main city which gave a quest at a random time, twice a week. 8 a week in total.
these quests can only be accepted by 1 person each time they spawn and would take you out into the world to fight a boss (different boss for each city state) that requires a full party and has somewhat challenging mechanics.
upon defeating the boss, each party member recieves a rare mount (once again a different mount for eàch boss, probably just a recolour of each)
any thoughts?

Sounds like behemoth with a controlled spawn, but with mounts.

Kinda like a quest version of an s or a rank hunt, with some sort of story, or lore behind it to make it interesting i'd be down for that, if mounts would be single drop then i'd advice adding minimum seals or tomes like 5lore,10 eso's, n like 25 clan/allied seals, maybe a small amount of gil also. I'd do it, probably more often then my weekly b ranks...XD

Sounds like controlled hunts.

I still think we should have a guildhest style grand melee list of instances, where we get to face off in different locations against various different npc's. Grand melee leves, yup that would be sweet, just with slightly better rewards.

Ah sorry dont think i explained it too well, the idea is that the quest can only be accepted by 1 person each time it spawns. For example if me and a random person were by the npc when the quest spawns and i accepted it before him, the quest would disappear for him and nobody would be able to see/accept it till its next spawn.
if you have played other MMOs its kinda like those rare world spawns that people camp for days except its the quests that spawn not the mob

I'd give it a go, as long as their we're more then just city state npcs, you would need more for it to be more popular, and some other or changing rewards to keep it from being a once n done.

I would much rather see this being used under the Leve system. Add onto it, and make it more like people are sayin, a controlled hunt type of scenario, or maybe on the lines of diadem type bosses, where you're fighting monsters with some mild mechanics and a small timelimit for chances at some rare loot, mount/minions/crafting loot/glamours.

If it's one of those things where you have to camp out on the npc because only one person gets the quest, screw that. It's irritating enough you have to sit and wait for a fate for the atma relic books, no way in hell I'd stare at an npc until a quest spawns, and even then have to hope someone doesn't click faster than me.

it's a bad idea. you don't want to restrict battle content. devs don't design content so that players can't play it.
if you want rare mounts make a new kind of Unhidden map that only drops from Goblins in Aquapolis.
