Just an Idea: "Classic (1.0)" Music Option in Settings (Where Applicable)

To the devs, just throwing this out there; food for thought. Now that we have the orchestrion system in the game, we're gaining more and more access to the songs available in 1.0. Would it be difficult to implement a setting in the sound options to allow "Classic Themes" for places such as:

Gridania
Limsa Lominsa
Ul'Dah
Battle Theme
Coerthas
etc.

We have the option to enable/disable mount music, so I'm wondering then if it would be difficult to have this (or a similar) toggle for 1.0 music. The thought of wandering through Ul'Dah again with "Twilight Over Thanalan" brings chills.

Think of it like changing the music from "Remastered" to "Classic" in the more recent FFX HD Remaster (in essence, not literally - same system).

To be honest, I don't think it would be really feasible to implement like that - it seems Soken has implemented the music in ARR in a very complex way, where certain times of day or the player being in certain parts of the zone will cue a certain part of a zone theme to start playing and then end. Not to mention we have a far far greater selection of music than what 1.0 had (for instance, 1.o had a single 'city' theme, where as now we have both day and night versions of the track, to say nothing of the half a dozen different themes used in a single zone.

As much as I loved 1.0's old city and zone themes and miss them, I really don't see this as possible sadly.

Understood. I'd be willing though to forego the time dynamic for alternating 1.0 music in the zone. And, IIRC, Ul'Dah played different themes during night and day.
