Ninja Betta got ninja'd?

Months ago, I used to catch Ninja Bettas trying to desynth for the minion, never got the minion and kinda abandoned the project. Now I returned for my boredom moments in game and found last week and today that I'm not able to land a single Ninja. Weather and time are correct, bait aswell, my stats haven't changed from when I used to catch them, so I'm clueless. I even kept checking my fishing log in case I was at the wrong spot or hallucinating.
My current stats are gathering 529 and perception 406, lvl 60, just as it was months ago when I had no problem landing them. The routine now is: land an Ala Mhigan Fighting Fish HQ, mooch to an Assassin Betta HQ, mooch again just to "The fish gets away...".
Not a single Ninja landed, I find it hard to believe of all fishes its just a rng and I happen to have bad luck with all of them >_>
It still lists as a 3 star lvl 50 fish, do I need to be a 3 star lvl 60 to land it?

I know it's hard to believe, but that's still just RNG of the game. >_>;

Nah, it def got nerfed. I went from catching 3-4 using "Patience" to feeling lucky if I could grab one. And this happened right after one of the patches, forgot which.

My fisher alt has noticed no difference in Ninja Beta hookings, catchings, or landings. She goes after them 2 - 4 times a week.

Average is about 6 bites / window landing half. Yes, Patience is involved. Where the RNG has been hurting lately is the desynthsis. Haven't gotten the fry in over a month. Then again just before this dry spell she went 5/6 on fry.

Sometimes RNGsus givith and sometimes RNGsus giveth the finger.
