"Unobtainable" Minions Question

I was curious to know if some minions are gone for good. I'm mainly referring to Cait Sith, Chocobo Chick Courier, Wind-Up Dalamud, and, Wind-Up Bahamut.

There's also the "Plush" Minions that seem to be on the Waiting List permanently.

As far as can be seen, yes sadly, they are. Some of those were preorder bonuses for ARR and Heavensward, while some were codes with the first runs of certain merchandise (Bluray soundtrack albums, artbooks and plushies). All these items the codes are limited time to both acquire and register - they actually have a useby date so even if you track the codes down after a certain time, they will be still unattainable as the time to redeem them has passed (this is the case with the Wind-up Dalamud at least - the code for that expired on December 31st 2014).

And as the only items that have appeared on the Mogstation for purchase at a later date have been only items that were available for free in the game during limited time events and not ex merchandise items, I really don't see things like the Wind up Dalamud ever appearing on the Mogstation I'm sorry to say. That's not to say SE that there is no chance that SE will change their minds, there is always that possiblity. But the most realistic outcome alas is sadly those items are gone forever I'm sorry.

Ah, yea, that's what I mostly thought. I'm not a big fan of Merchandise exclusive gear. Thanks for the input!

Checking the rankings in xiv-minions, I'd say the majority of minion collectors would agree with that sentiment.

The plush minions do become available from time to time, you can sign up and have them email you when stock is available again.

I got my plush minions that way, but supply doesn't seem to last very long.

If you aren't fast to notice your email, they do sell out again quite quick I think. A bit of luck with when you notice the email helps.

As for the others, would love to see them available again but I don't expect to :(

I love how they are always on Waiting List for EU/NA but I was just in Tokyo and found them for sale in the Square Enix Artnia cafe, and in random shops in Akihabara.....

Personally I wish they'd make the codes available via mogstation as well when the merchandise is released so folks who want the plushie can get one without having to go on waiting list because the folks who just want the code bought out all the stock.

That Cait Sith minion. :( :( :( :( I wanted it so bad! I preordered the game for it but I was not home to pick up the game and wouldn't be home for a few months , so my brother picked for me and held it until I got home. And he didn't save the receipt for me and the receipt held the code for the minion. My heart was broken. I was hoping the new Cait Sith doll would come with it but it comes with ears....which is useless for a miqote like me. /heartbreak
