Crafting Parts - Yielding 12 Before, Now 1

I understand the need for balance, but certain glues, threads, cloths, lumber, etc yielding 12 before and now only yielding 1 is VERY painful. Especially when trying to clean up old mats. A middle ground would be nice, maybe yielding 4 each synth instead of 1.

I have a retainer filled to the max with mats for arrows, I just need glues (fish and horn). So very painful now to make it myself. I'm getting to the point where I just want to NPC all of it and say screw it, but considering that they didn't release a whole lot of new arrows, I'm extremely reluctant.

Is anyone else finding it as painful as I am? Anyone else wishing for that middle ground too?

Hello ^^. I definitely sympathize with the crafting struggles of certain classes! With the crafting modifications a lot of synths that were great to grind on pre-patch are no longer the best grind source. On a side note I want to make sure you know that certain synths did not have their yield lowered even though similar synths did. For example certain glues (Animal, Fish, and Horn) do yield one finished item per synth, however, other glues (Void, Scale, and Wing) still yield 12. So at the moment you’ll have to find other synths to fill your time for the fun crafting grind! I hope this helps!

I probably would feel less of a sting if the glues that only yield 1 didn't need items so rare. I've farmed up aldgoat horns for horn glue, it takes about 3 hrs for 1 stack. 1 stack gives me 33 glue. So one stack of glue costs at least 9 hrs, NOT including the time needed to craft the glue.

I'm usually not one to complain about this stuff, but it's frustrating to no end. I think I give up. Just gonna sell the horns, npc my mats and try to forget about the potential gil I would have made on those arrows pre-patch. And btw, it wasn't for the grind, it was for gil. And for LS mates who are working on archer and needed arrows. There is plenty to grind on, arrows for grinding would be painful lol.

One stack of horns gives you 49 glue with one horn left over.

It's really not so bad just go and farm when you actually need the glue for something. There's a clearing with a ton of goats south of Camp Horizon that I use for farming and I got about 50 horns in around 30-45 min. Your PGL should be strong enough to break horns in one WS. You can get up to 2 horns per goat.

sorry, my math sucks lol. but I was thinking 3 horns per syth, not 2. That was the old syth, plus I was thinking of the synths where you can craft 3 at a time to get 3 and for whatever reason got 3 on the brain lol. Really wish I could do that with the glue :( But it still sucks...

I know the tricks to the horns, I don't go pug, takes too long. not sharing my secrets tho lol. The trick is only hitting them with the WS, because otherwise you 1 shot them with an auto attack @L50... And yes, you can get 2 horns per incap, but you can also get 0. Maybe the drop rate is better if you don't kill them with the WS that incaps them, idk.. All I have is L50's so I have no way of really knowing. but a full stack (plus maybe 20 or so +3's) still takes me 3 hrs.
