Transfer of keybinds/HUD/etc between characters?

I found another thread which said to copy files between FFXIV_CHR00###... folders, but this didn't seem to work for me...

I took everything from one folder and copied it to the other, but nothing happened. Theoretically, if I went in the wrong direction, I should have overwrote my main character's setup (which is why I made a backup!), but both characters are still completely different... (Main character still has her setup, and my newb still has... nothing.)

Is there a cache to be cleared somewhere or something? Or has this been broken since then?

(I am on Windows 7.)

Edit: I do have a bit of an odd setup, however... I have administrative shortcuts (junction points) between files on C:\ to point to my D:\ drive, because C:\ is a much smaller SSD. That said, if the shortcuts were a problem, the game shouldn't be reading the files at all and I would get tons of errors...? Instead, the files in that folder are date stamped from install till now...
