'Has Stopped Working'

Hi there :)

So I randomly seem to get 'Final Fantasy Has Stopped Working - A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available'. Of course, this has happened at some very frustrating times! XD

I'm not sure what info is most helpful, so I'm going to splurge below. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated - Ill buy you a pint XD

(I'm having some other issues, but Ill do one thread per issue to keep it simple.)

Windows 10
GTX 980M (+integrated)
Ive used 'GeForce Experience' to update to the latest Nvidia drivers.

Known issue with the dx11 version of the game, I had to convert back to running the dx9 version of the game due to this error and unfortunately that is the only fix I was able to find. Hoping for a fix in the future as the game ran light years better for me on dx11 and also looked better, but the stopped working errors weren't worth it.

I am getting the same error except it happens every time I try to play the game. Is there any sort of fix for this issue other than rolling back to dx9?

There's no fix. The game is just broken.

That's crazy! But some people can play it with no issues on Dx11?
Also it mainly happens when warping - is there some way to at least figure out specifically what's causing it? Ie, when the game tries to load something specific etc? It seems crazy that no one can even find an answer to WHY this is happening. I can play for hours at a time and then it randomly happens - which means it isn't completely broken and something has to be happening to trigger it, surely?

I was playing on dx11 on both my desktop and laptop without any issues until 3.3. Something broke in this patch and now both machines have different issues - one has the one you described above and the other one sucks up system and compressed memory resources for 5-10 seconds, lagging everything HARD, and then stops. I've already tried going back to dx9 on both but it doesn't help.

Yeah not sure what's causing it, as you said happens for me only when changing area by warping or exiting an instance sometimes the client just crashes. Probably loading in some corrupt data on area change, who knows. Only started happening after the last round of hotfixes for me, before that i never crashed.
