lore gear obsolete at 3.3

i just looked through 3.3 pre notes and i saw new gear. is that the new af gear. if it is does that mean lore gear will be obsolete?

looks like it's just going to be new dungeon gear to me. either through the new EX dungeons or it's the drops for the continuation of void ark.

it will probably be the same ilvl as the lore gear, and will serve as catch up gear.

They did the same thing with the esoteric gear and the void ark gear.

If anything Lore gear is even more valuable as you can now obtain the upgradable items from the 24-person raid.

hope so. if i have to grind for whole new gear so early i would be mad

This always happens, something every patch gets outdated.

For those who don't raid you can upgrade the left side pieces and right in 24 man raid, but not the 230 weapon into 240 weapon. If you did relic grind already, the next ilvl for relic is 240.

The same thing they've been doing since syrcus tower... same item level as highest currency gear, but not upgradeable.

How do you figure? Lore gear is upgradable to 240. You'll get an item once a week to upgrade your lore gear. Lore gear is not obsolete.

Completion Reward
Upon completing the Weeping City of Mhach, players can also earn a separate reward once per week. This reward can be exchanged with Bertana in Idyllshire (X:5.9 Y:5.2) for items used to enhance equipment purchased with Allagan tomestones of lore.
* Reward eligibility is reset every Tuesday at 1:00 a.m. (PDT).

For the 24 man raid, I don't even care what iLvl gear it drops as long as the BLM gear has tons of Spell Speed.

And, no the Lore gear will not be obsolete. It will be when they introduce a new type of Tomestone with a weekly cap. SE is so predictable.
