Can't connect to data center?

I honestly have no idea why this started happening but in the past two days I've been unable to making it past the title screen upon loading the game.

I click Start, the 'Connecting to Data Center' message appears as usual and then... nothing. Perpetual loading with no end in sight and when I try to exit the game by X'ing out, the game freezes, forcing me to close it via Task Manager.

The only thing I've done to my computer the last few days is get a new wireless mouse. But I've tried plugging my old mouse back in and the problem still remains. I'm stumped and kinda frustrated I can't play!
