Scholar role.

Hi there.
I'm actually collecting opinions about the scholar role for you.
To me, when i very first started the game, i directly noticed the sch would be the off healer type. Great for me i love that.
However, now I'm doing end game contents, i Just noticed i have no defensive Cd's for the group and my dps potentiel is quite limited ( next to the Warrior one who's also an off-type.)

That's why i thought we should change some skills effects.

Like for Emergency Tactics. I think this one should give a 5% defensive ( physical and elementary) boost for 15 seconds and a HoT about 20 potency for all the allies nearby. ( 90sec Cd.)
I also think Broil should be up to 200 potency instead of 170.
At least, i think direct and powerful heals should be for whm/ast while sch are more dps/ defensive oriented.

What do you Guys think about it ? Let us know !!;)

Um shields are defence.

Fey covenant is magic defense.

Virus is defence.

Eye-For-An-Eye is defence.

Dps potential on sch is very high. The anology to compare to warrior doesnt work. Warrior naturally does dps to do its primary role, deliverance heightens this dps. Scholar doesnt need to do dps to heal, however it is such an overpowered mess of a class it can leave most of the healing to fairy, do triage healing when needed, mitigate whats needed and then dps when its not doing this.

Lets not make the most overpowered mess of a job in the game even more powerful.

200 potency in broil would be ridiculous. Combined with all DoTs its would be far too powerful. Never mind the fact that AST most potent dps spell is 200 potency and stone III is 210, yet AST doenst have the DoTs sch has or the fairy, and whm doesnt have the mana recovery sch has.

Emergency tactics also giving a defense buff and a potent regen is overkill. It would blow everything WHM and AST has out of the water.

SCH needs nothing added to it, if anything, WHM and AST should get buffed to SCH level.

Technically, shields are shields. When i say defensive Cd's it is really one like Fey covenant, but this one only increases elementary one.

And yes, we shall compare those two. They both have to dps to fulfill their roles.
200 potency woudn't be that much when you see that for exemple on as5, my war is at 1k without doing much when i hardly reach 750, trying hard. This is mostly because i have the fairy that i got more downtime to dps. This what an off healer does. But actually, this aspect of the sch isn't strong enough to my point.

I agree with the other the scholar is very strong atm give him more is pointless

The adlo shield are the most powerful one (with noct aspected too) because they can reduced or absorb any kind of damage for anyone (lifesaver in many case)

In the DPS case... yes you should be on par with WAR because you are both OFF job
You can't be on par with DPS, because your sub DPS only

First time first... i will kind of disageeeing with darkmoon because i don't see EfaE as defensive cooldown but a reactive cooldown (one that should be use long time before any hit)
Virus is... well kind of a defensive but more reactive too since it Work for the group instead of yourself (as opposés to defensive cooldown that save you only)

Cant we just have emergency tactics create a thundercloud proc on your next dot (Hello 700 potency Bio II) and share our feelings and be happy...? :D

Oh and Selene an AoE? ;D

No other healer in the game gets defensive cooldowns like you a describing except Scholar.

Also Scholar catagorically does not have to deal damage to fulfil its role. There is a difference in how a class works mechanically to fulfill its role (in this case, warrior has to deal damage as part of its role) and how the community meta has evolved (in this case, scholar is expected to dps, but it doesnt have to do this to be able to do its primary function, that is to heal).

You are playing the class that the majority of the community understand to be an overpowered monster. It really really really does not need any buffs.

Now try and get 750 dps as WHM or D.AST in a non-biased set up, then lets talk about scholar needing buffs........

Summon II should summon 2 selenes :).

I'm not comparing sch with whm or D.ast because sch should ofc dps more since it has less heals.
Also, I'm not proposing a buff, but reajustements. Less heals, more dps/ defensive Cd's.

With EoS the sch has as much heal as the other, do not put him under ! In single target healing he has a huge davantage !

Is summon II give us 2 Selenes then dissipation on those two should transformed them into rocket fairy and slay the ennemies !!!

The issue is with balance. The SCH ability to heal is closer to AST and WHM than WHM and AST dps is to SCH. There has to be some balance.

Embrace spam from fairy alone is stupid powerful.

Ruin III used to make me laugh (120 potency,) now it makes me cry salty, very salty, tears (200 potency.)
