Why do the old pvp maps not get updated to the current level?

I'm quite curious why its like that. I know pvp (sadly) is not very popular in this game, but it seems strange to not keep maps up to date, or to even add a low level option.

This is mostly just speculation, and SE has never outright made a comment about it, but it's probably to avoid the appearance of discrimination and coercion within their subscription base.

Not everyone who subscribes to FFxiv has the Heavensward expansion. A lot of the queue times are obnoxiously long, or even dead, but there are still players who run the level 50 content. If SE were to bump any of that content up to 60, they'd be alienating the players who don't have access to Heavensward from content that they was originally intended for level 50. It doesn't matter if that content is effectively dead. So long as it exists, SE can make the claim that they are not neglecting a portion of their paying customers. They can also avoid any accusations that they are attempting to force people into purchasing the expansion by limiting their playable content. The option is there for people to queue for. The fact that the majority of the subscribers choose not to is not SE's responsibility or problem.

More than make a update, make a 60 version and let a 50 version maybe.
but it's still dead anyway even if there an update most players will queue the last front instance, and with the GC restriction ,organize 3 group for a old instance is hard.
I wish some works on Queing [mercenarie system for exemple] and after that maybe get level 60 version of old instance, not an update but a level60 version.

To take this even further why not make lvl50 and 60 version of all maps including upcoming shatter and then add lvl50 and 60 roulette for both like we have in PvE atm.

We should have Titan extreme ex + alpha also in level60 too XD.
I see what you mean, but it's not the first times someone is asking to get old pvp instance synch to 60. I am not sure it will make this old instance more alive, because new one seem to replace all the time the older.

Once and only once, Frontline Roulette somehow gave me Slaughter. It's the only time I've ever seen a battleground that isn't Seal Rock.

It was really fun. I want to do it again, but that's effectively impossible — the queue will not pop, ever. And Frontline Roulette is Seal Rock at a rate of roughly 99%.

SE: I just want to give you money and play the content you have created. I feel like you frequently say, "Thank you, but we don't want you to play the content we created."

They need to make them level 60 caps and just bolster people to 60.

Yep! They may want to take the cue from ESO. Could even be a leveling method for even lower levels.

Here's what we do:

SE's been listening quite a lot lately (for the most part *glares at relic quests*). Let's create/compile a thread that simply, clearly states (with regard to the relevant topic) "This is what we want". Post in agreement to show by numbers that the player community by large wants this change/addition. Though it may take time, we'll get exactly that.

Notable examples:
Eternal Bond
More housing (a touchy topic, but leave it at that)
Pet glams
Dyeable Coil gear (including the Final Coil gear soon, as seen in the 3.3 trailer)
Wildfire animation/effect
Haurchefant's portrait
Hildibrand
