Sunken Temple of Qarn question

Hi guys, newish tank here. This is apparently extremely simple, but i keep screwing it up and i dont know why. On the first boss in Qarn, at the doom move, i step on a lit square after the move goes off, it says -doom, i step off to resume fighting, i assume im good. Then im suddenly dead... Can someone explain to me like im 7 exactly how i get doom off. Literally, treat me like im an idiot. Please explain. Also while we're at it, does anyone have a link to detailed dungeon maps for ARR? I love tanking but i hate having my party stand around while i figure out where to go next. Thanks in advance.

You might be having lag. Also there are the adds, which I assume have Final Sting and that's a tank killer move.

Sometimes I'm killed by a second doom that I didn't notice the boss cast. Otherwise I think the final sting from the bees might be getting you.

Hm, as far as all dungeons go, there is pretty much only 1 path. No branches or anything. If disoriented after a boss fight, the treasure chest always lie near the exit.

As for Qarn, the Doom move puts a debuff with timer on you. When it reaches 0 you die. To remove it, you step on a lit square AFTER you get the debuff.

After the first doom the platforms start to trick you. One will light up but will go out and a second one will light up. That might be the reason you are being killed by the doom.

Either 1) you didn't step on the glowing pad properly and you still had doom, 2) you got hit by doom again and didn't notice, 3) the bee adds used final sting on you because your dps are dumb and didn't kill them fast enough. AFAIK final sting always takes out something like 90% of your max hp, so if you're not topped off (or you get hit by two at the same time) then you're going to kiss the floor.

Definitely Final Sting. The bees use Final Sting when their health gets low enough or if they're alive for too long (and it's a ranged attack so you can't run away from it) so your DPS need to kill them quickly or be prepared to stun them.

Is it possible the -doom you saw was from a party member? I don't rely on the floating text, and usually normally have all floating text turned off as a tank, relying simply on my status bar set to justified left for priority. Any rebuffs applied to you will be the first on left side of bar

There has been a time where it showed the -Doom on my screen and I still died to it anyway (it wasn't from it being a last-second removal either, it's like the doom removal didn't even register)

A far more likely culprit is the bees, though. If they both Final Sting the same target, they WILL die without a death prevention ability active (none of which I think are available yet in that dungeon). It is programmed to deal about 80% of the target's max HP in damage, so two of them doing that on the same target at the same time will do 160% of their max HP in damage, which nobody can survive.
