So what is the "Make it rain" event about? [Spoilers]

I was really excited about this new event "Make it Rain", so ran down to gold saucer as soon as it launched this morning... and I'm sort of confused.

So I did the quest to find the murderer. And then I did the follow up quest to get the emote... Is that really it? There was like that villainous guy in the shadows saying it wasn't over or whatever... Are there more parts to this event that I am missing perhaps? It seemed kind of short and the picking the killer thing was fun idea but I'm not even sure I picked the right person. It wasn't like on those detective shows/games where you break a confession out of them or something. And also, the lead in to the murder had the gold saucer employees saying they had some cool new event..were they talking about the murder itself? After we solved the murder they just sent me away for my prize.

So I just came to ask like, is this a multi part thing and there is still more to come, did I maybe miss something significant or was that just all there was to it? Was there some hint that maybe there is something else later that I missed?

Just wondered if you guys saw something. The theme was the whole "mystery" to be solved and had the Sherlock Holmes like emote so I thought maybe there was some secrets or something. Also the name "Make it rain", what is the significance of the title? I expected it to be like some drive to earn MGP if that was the title but it doesn't seem to be. Thanks!

Well I mean they've increased mgp gains by 50% overall for the whole campaign so the make it rain might refer to that.

If you found all evidence there's extra dialogue choice compared with lack-of-evidence dialogue. And of course you need to choose right answer. If you choose wrong the extra dialogue didn't appear.

Those 3 is not the killer

If you still have a mystery NPC call you an inept detective, then you chose the wrong answer. There is spoiler around you can google.
Spoiler: The real ending is amazing <3

There are 10 clues scattered about the main floor of the golden saucer.

3 are red herrings individually they seem important, but together they contradict each other.
1 seems to be useless unless you think outside the box.
5 clues tell you who, what, when, why and how by unlocking new dialogue choices.
1 seems useless but clarifies the why once everything else is done.

You only need 6 clues to get the golden ending.

Yup! Those of you who thought the event was short, go back and find the clues. The ending cutscene is pretty awesome with the cameo.

Ah! Ty so much for hints. I had been puzzled by the "bad ending" but was pretty convinced that was all there was. Thanks for giving me encouragement to dig deeper. I gave it a few more goes and did more of the scavenger hunt part and managed the "good ending" finally!

So this event isn't about adding a strip club to the gold saucer?

I admit I feel kinda cheated about bringing new events in but yet its just a "Who did it?" kind of thing and then they say "Were not bringing new events now cus of this for the time being". Honestly these kind of things bore me so I didn't bother hunting for all the clues but I am hoping the mention of new attractions come out soon.
