Antitower question

Been playing anti tower all day every tuesday since its release. In the second part of the dungeon, the tank would mark the spriggan doorkeepers with a 1. I have noticed that nobody does that anymore. Some tanks lately have started marking the massive monoliths instead. Is everyone so overgeared now that they don't see the doorkeepers as priority anymore? Just want to make sure I stay on-target and do not get scolded by my comrades...:confused:

Even from its day one release, the Spriggan was never an issue. You don't really have to mark anything. A General rule for all dungeons is to kill all adds in a quick manner.

Actually, the reason for the markings is because the other mobs are triggered by the spriggans at the end of the pull hitting low health. In the third pull of the dungeon the frog in the middle triggers the other two mobs

To further clarify, the reason we mark the mobs isn't because we don't want you to AOE, just that if your AOE rotation involves any single target it would help to use it on the marked targets

As a MNK, I'll happily punch whatever the tank marks up. I'll assume they have a reason, perhaps something unique to them, and makes little difference to me.

If I choose, I'll pick the mob that has the most annoying AOE first. So the massive monoliths with their big circle AOE go before the spriggen and its cone AOE, which goes before everything else.

As a positonal DD those scrums of mass pulls suck. Impossible to see anything.

I never saw things marked, but I tend to focus the Spriggans as a DPS because, as someone already mentioned, it triggers the spawn of the additional two fire sprites which would make AoE damage more beneficial. Initially it was just to try capitalise on my Limit Break but damage has passed the point where they spawn in time to make it any more viable, so it's just for the general AoE'ing.

I think many people are overgeared for it since I never had to mark stuff and most of the time I pull 2 packs at once with some CDs on the bigger pulls. Though I do have a question of my own about The Antitower. Is the Expert Roulette purposefully designed to give you that instance more than the other one?

It is just your luck. I personally almost always get the other one. Since update I had like 5x antitower and like 40x lost city...
