Something I hope they do for 2.0 in regards to camps
All of the camps should be bigger and have their own theme to go along with them. It doesn't have to be something major, but adding a bit of life to them would be cool. For example: Camp Bearded Rock could be a camp where there are a bunch of NPCs roaming around giving newbies tips (since it's the first camp from the city). Aside from that, they could contain a small counter with Maelstorm NPCs that give out low level quests for recruits.
Also, all NPC at camps could wear gear in accordance to the level of difficulty the leves are at the camp site. Hell, maybe you could even hire a mercenary (higher cost for more powerful mercs, but all are weaker than you..maybe even smaller rewards gained if you hire help) to help out with leves if you're going at it alone. Camps could even have a few story quests revolving around the them. Perhaps some monsters stole supplies, an important NPC wandered off, monsters are on the verge of attacking, etc. DoL could get involved by supplying camps with materials so that new weapons can be crafted and sold by the vendor or help fix broken gates so monsters cant get through
Idk, there are just some ideas. Camps seem so insignificant besides being able to activate quests. It would be awesome if camps had stories behind them and had some life in them.
