Allagan Tomestones tied of grind new ideas thread to get them.

Don't know if there is a thread for this but this thread is mainly about the Allagan Tomestones over all. I don't mind having to grind to level up my character when it comes to jobs but having to grind for Allagan Tomestones is such a chore. To the point where I am so sick of having to do the same dungeons over and over again that I now ether full asleep during the dungeon or I'm just not fully dedicated to fight even when I want to be.

I know u can get them in PVP. But I didn't buy FF14 for PVP I hate PVP in MMORPGs.

So this thread is to think of new idea's to be able too
Collect them.

I think there should be special quests to beable to get them. Or even as Miner locations where u can mine for them.

What do you guys think?

I just don't want the grind to kill any interest I have in doing dungeons. It's bad enough that we have to repeat primal fights and dungeons as it is just to get EXP from DR, which by the way is not that bad but once u get to level 50 since exp from fates after 53 and up is not that great having to do the same dungeons for exp becomes a right pain. Why is it everything in this game slowly becomes a grind. I know I know it's an RPG game but still lol.

extra rare NM FATEs, that get stronger depending how fast he was killed last time

I think they should have used gil and not a new currency from the beginning. You can obtain gil however you like and you spend it on new gear every time new gear comes out. It gives the game a gil sink. But no.. If we get anything we get it their way or no way. I just bought the 220 crafted set. Im not bother with any tomes this time around. Or anytime soon. Tomes are a waste of content imo. Its the way the game was made. Honestly this game is most likely doomed to be this way forever. tomes, tomes, tomes, until you leave and just stop coming back. I dont think there is anything they can do to fix it besides adding other ways to gain gear. They tried that with relic and every time its the same crap. Crystal farming, do dungeons/fates/get items that are rare. Its just too hard for them to be unique and come up with ideas that are not reskins.So im basically playing how i want, looking for any way to not fall into the repetition. (thats why im buying gear that is crafted and haven't tried every type of content yet/for ex: bismark, ravana, thordan ex trials) I dont know what to do to fix it though. Ive also long given up hope. Maybe they should increase tome item prices and remove the cap and give ways to gain tomes kind of like you said, through mining or other means..

Well, you said it yourself, everything becomes a grind. If any way yields a higher profit/time ratio than roulettes, then everyone will spam that, to grind towards the weekly cap. The special quests would get repetitive (even moreso than the dungeons, look at how much faster paced beast tribe dailies are compared to their 2.0 counterparts... because people get tired of repetition so quickly) and gathering itself is already repetitive. So adding lore tomes to that wouldn't make it more exciting, it would just change the scenery of the grind. Plus, DoH/DoL have scrips now as their version of tomes.

I personally would love new ways to get tomes. But I've just kind of accepted that /any/ way to get tomes, especially a fast and/or easy way to get tomes, is going to be repetitive when done daily and feel just like spamming the roulettes. Imo the best way to not burn out is to take a week or two off, don't pressure yourself to cap, just take time to just do what you want. Because you'll get burnt out on grinding anything, in any form, in any scenery. I think a step in the right direction would be to go back to three dungeons per patch, or to scrap HM dungeons and give us two new dungeons. I feel like the majority of the playerbase really does not care, at all, about what happened to Pharos Sirius or what happened to Hullbreaker Isle. I know I don't care, I'd rather get something new than get a poorly-conceived filler story slapped onto an old dungeon that is obviously made up of the original dungeon just to cut corners and save time.

Definately agree with that.

I just want a dungeon i like and can run over and over 2.0 had bray hm hullbreaker snow cloak wanders hm all 3 towers 3.0 so far for me have all missed the mark

Yes you can buy gear with gil. Crafted meldable gear isn't cheap but it's an option as you've indicated. I purchased 220 gear for my blm and astro on my main. It's expensive on my server but then again I make lots of gil gathering 220 mats to sell on the market board. Midas also doesn't use tomes although you get them when running the floors. It's also an option for gear that isn't directly tied to tome farming. My Pally is in full midan gear at the moment although I did need 1000 Lore for the sword and shield. Granted token farming in Midas can be very frustrating at times especially if you need one item such as a Shaft to complete a gear set.

I see what you guys are saying I find it strange that they can't come up with brand new dungeons all the time instead giving us extreme mode or hard mode of a prevous dungeon I really do love The Antitower in my mind it's actullay one of the best dungeons I'm HW I'm just worried that my interest will die very soon because of having to grind.

I think ur right though I wish we could just use gill to buy the gear. I can see it now new exp pack comes great new Tomes to collect. So many things that I feel like have been implemented wrong into this game. Housing is one and Tomestones is a second. My hate for DF is strong because I always wanted this game to have open world dungeons not DF dungeons. But that will change when I hope they give us an option to be able to solo dungeons I guess. Summoner is another thing but not gonna go into that lol.

There does appear to be a new approach to dungeons in 3.3. It remains to be seen what type of gear might drop there and what tome rewards if any will be a part of it.

Palace of the Dead
The Palace of the Dead. As players delve deeper into this dungeon, the environment will change and there will be bosses to fight. Some “special” bosses will also appear on multiple floors.

There will be duty finder matchmaking for the area and balanced based on four players. It can be played solo, but will be a great challenge. Players who fail to reach the next check point before defeat will have to start over from the last autosave. The special weapons, one of which can be seen glowing a screenshot below, can be taken out of the dungeon and used other content.

Aquapolis
Another new dungeon, the Aquapolis, will appear randomly when players uncover a Dragonskin Map.
